The ninth match of the Asia Cup 2016 is going to be another one-sided contest as the in-form India takes on a wounded UAE. This will be the deadest of the rubbers with India already through to the finals and UAE cannot possibly join them. Hosts Bangladesh sealed the second spot of the final, beating Pakistan by 5 wickets on Wednesday. The outcome of this match will, therefore, have no effect on the rest of the contenders in their bid for the Asia Cup trophy.
India will play UAE today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka and live action will begin at 7:30 PM local time. For this, they would have to make drastic improvements in their batting which has been a big let down for them in the tournament. The batting could benefit if the likes of Amjad Javed and Mohammad Usman move up the order.
Usman has accumulated 167 runs in the tournament to become the leading run-scorer for the UAE. His good performance in the qualifiers and fine contributions in the last two games makes him worth betting on. Shaiman Anwar too got going in the game against Pakistan and made 46 to help his team reach a three-figure total. The top three have failed to click which remains a major cause for concern. Their bowling has certainly managed to raise quite a few eyebrows. Captain Amjad Javed has been their best bowler and has taken 12 wickets in the Asia Cup 2016, the highest in the tournament. His knack of picking up wickets and tight bowling in the death overs makes him a good option for a bet. Mohammad Naveed has also impressed and is just one wicket behind Javed at the second spot.
