India have not made any changes to their final Cricket World Cup 2019 squad from their preliminary 15-man squad. All-rounder Kedar Jadhav, who was earlier doubtful for the tournament, has now been confirmed fit by the team management. The Virat Kohli-led side has left out Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant while picking KL Rahul, Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will open the Indian innings while Virat Kohli and Vijay Shankar will bat at numbers three and four respectively. Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami are the specialist seam bowlers while Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja form the team's spin contingent.
The top three form the heart of the Indian batting. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are coming off a good IPL season and the onus will be on this opening pair to take India off to a flying start. Virat Kohli is the most prized scalp for the oppositions. The skipper is currently the world's best ODI batsman and he can put his team into a strong position in these batting-friendly conditions. MS Dhoni due to his game awareness and Hardik Pandya due to his big-hitting abilities are the key figures in the Indian middle-order batting.
Jasprit Bumrah, the No. 1 ODI bowler in the world, is India's trump card in terms of bowling. The pacer can put pressure on the Kiwis with the new ball and his accuracy at the death will make it difficult for them to score runs. Mohammed Shami has shown tremendous improvement and he too can inflict some damage early on while Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have the reputation of causing problems for the batsmen even on flat tracks.
Since losing to Pakistan in the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, India have played 12 ODI series/tournaments and have won 10 of those including last year's Asia Cup held in the UAE. This year, they have played 13 one-day internationals out of which they have won 8 and lost 5. India's most recent ODI series came against Australia at home a couple of months ago - a series of five matches which they lost 2-3.

Tom Latham is currently recovering from his finger injury and is unlikely to feature in this warm-up game against India. The wicketkeeper-batsman had sustained the injury while playing for New Zealand XI during the final warm-up game in Australia. This means Tom Blundell, who has been included in the squad as cover for Latham, will probably be keeping wickets. It will be interesting to see whether the Kiwis prefer Henry Nicholls or Colin Munro to open the innings alongside Martin Guptill. Trent Boult will lead the team's pace attack that also comprises Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry. Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi are the two specialist spinners in the side.
Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson are the big guns in New Zealand's batting line-up. Taylor is the third-best ODI batsman in the world and he has scored the most runs for the team in this format. His vast experience and ability to pace the innings according to match situation makes him a valuable player. Captain Williamson is averaging around 46 and he has been the team's most consistent performer with bat. Guptill is another dangerous batsman and it will be good for the team the longer he stays at the crease.Trent Boult is undoubtedly the key man for the Black Caps when it comes to bowling. The fast bowler is currently the second-ranked ODI bowler and his ability to swing the ball both ways makes him a serious threat with the new ball. He will be a big danger to Rohit Sharma who tends to be a little tentative at the start of his innings. Tim Southee is another major weapon in this pace attack, although he has not looked at his best lately. Mitchell Santner is New Zealand's premier spinner and it will be up to this left-armer to tighten the screws in the middle overs.
New Zealand have won four, lost three and drawn one out of the eight bilateral ODI series they have played post the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy in England. They have played eleven one-day internationals this year (all at home) and have won seven of those. After sweeping Sri Lanka 3-0 at the start of the year, they received a 1-4 drubbing at the hands of India before whitewashing Bangladesh 3-0 in their most recently played ODI series.

India and New Zealand have played 101 completed one-day internationals against each other with the scoreline 55-45 in favor of the former. One of those encounters had resulted in a tie.
India have beaten New Zealand six times in their last seven ODI meetings. The Kiwis suffered a 1-4 loss in the five-match series when India recently toured New Zealand earlier in the year in January-February.
The two countries have never faced each other at the Kennington Oval in the game's fifty-over format.
Matches Played | IND Won | NZ Won | Tie | No Result |

India are clear favorites with Bet365 at odds of 1.57 to win this warm-up match against New Zealand, who in contrast, begin as the underdogs. The Kiwis are being offered at a higher price of 2.37 on Bet365.
India certainly have the upper hand going into this warm-up game due to their impressive recent record against New Zealand in the fifty-over format. The men-in-blue have beaten the men-in-black six times in their previous seven encounters and they even dominated them in their own backyard in the ODI series earlier this year. However, they lost their most recent series at home to Australia while the Kiwis swept Bangladesh at home in their previous series. New Zealand will also gain some confidence from the fact that they have beaten England in their last two ODIs at this ground while India got crushed by Pakistan in their previous outing here. But having said that, India possess more strength in both batting and bowling departments which is why we expect them to emerge victorious.
