HBH vs ADS T20 Prediction & Betting Tips, BBL 2020

Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers face each other for the second time in the 2020-21 Big Bash League, moving from Hobart to Launceston for their second meeting. The match takes place at the University of Tasmania Stadium on December 15 and the live action starts at 19:15 local time.

Hobart won their first meeting on Sunday, by 11 runs. D’Arcy Short top-scored with 72 in a total of 174/5 and James Faulkner’s 3-21 meant even a 61-run unbeaten last-wicket stand by Daniel Worrall and Danny Briggs could stop them recording victory. It was their second in two games so far, as Tim David scored 58 in a total of 178/8 and Faulkner’s 2-22 helped secure an opening 16-run win against Sydney Sixers.

The Strikers have only played once by contrast, and were reduced to 49/6 and then 102/9 chasing 175 to win, and Worrall’s 62* and Briggs’ 35* merely made the score respectable.

Hobart Hurricanes Team News & Playing 11

HBH Team News

Hobart could stick with a winning line-up, with D’Arcy Short opening the batting with Will Jacks and Peter Handscomb leading the team and taking the gloves.

HBH Key Players

  • D’Arcy Short: His opening duck was a temporary blip and he was back to his Big Bash best last time out as he hit 72 from 48 balls.
  • James Faulkner: Back to his best so far, with two wickets in the opening game of  BBL 2020 and three more last time out.
  • Tim David: Started the tournament with 58 from 33 balls and then hit a useful unbeaten 21 from 13 balls in the most recent game.

HBH Team Form

Hobart Hurricanes have won both matches so far. They opened the tournament with a win against Sydney Sixers. Tim David and Colin Ingram hit half-centuries in a total of 178/8 and James Faulkner’s 2-22 was key in a 16-run victory. Last time out, against Hobart, D’Arcy Short hit 72 in a total of 174/5 and Faulkner took 3-21 in an 11-run win.

Adelaide Strikers Team News & Playing 11

ADS Team News

Captained by Peter Siddle and with Harry Nielsen behind the stumps, the Strikers could stick with the same line-up as last time out – but they will expect far more up the order from the likes of Phil Salt and Jake Weatherald.

ADS Key Players

  • Rashid Khan: Expensive last time out, the Afghan spinner is capable of far more than his figures of 1-38 showed off.
  • Matt Renshaw: The only top-order batsman to score well last time out, hitting two sixes on his way to 33 from 27 balls.
  • Daniel Worrall: His 62* from 39 balls suggested he could do a job up the order – though he is another who needs to deliver more with the ball.

ADS Team Form

Adelaide Strikers have only played once so far, losing by 11 runs to Hobart Hurricanes on Sunday. Wes Agar’s 2-28 was a largely lonely furrow as Hobart hit 174/5. A top-order collapse in reply meant it was only an unbroken 61-run last-wicket partnership between Daniel Worrall (62*) and Danny Briggs (35*) that added respect to the scoreline. The Strikers hit 163/9.

This year, after both subsequently lost in the play-offs, Hobart beat Adelaide again. D’Arcy Short hit 72 in a total of 174/5 and Adelaide posted 163/9 – 61 of those runs coming from the final wicket partnership. James Faulkner took 3-21 to inflict the early damage with the ball.

Hobart Hurricanes to beat Adelaide Strikers at 1.90 with Bet365 and 1.90 with Betway.

HBH vs ADS Dream11 Prediction

  • Wicket Keeper

Peter Handscomb leads the way for the Hurricanes and he is a sensible, reasonable price at nine credits.

  • Batsmen

Colin Ingram and Tim David have hit half-centuries already, with the latter in particularly good batting form. They are must picks. The others are gambles, but Jake Weatherald, Phil Salt and Jonathan Wells are all capable of more than they have showed so far.

  • All rounder

The all-rounders are easier to pick. James Faulkner is already in excellent bowling form and D’Arcy Short found his best batting form last time out too. They are key picks.

  • Bowlers

Rashid Khan is 9.5 credits but capable of much more than he showed in the first game. His reputation makes him worth picking. Riley Meredith is 8.5 credits and has wickets to his name already, while Dan Worrall – as well as his batting last time out – will open the bowling for the Strikers.

  • Captain/Vice Captain

James Faulkner has five wickets in two games and has been in fine form. Given he is capable of big things with the bat too down the order, he is a good captain pick. D’Arcy Short hit top form last time out, meanwhile. He is a Big Bash batting legend and the fact he turns his arm too makes him a good vice-captain pick.

HBH vs ADS Dream11 Team Prediction

  • Batsmen:Colin Ingram, Tim David, Jake Weatherald, Phil Salt, Jonathan Wells

  • All Rounder:James Faulkner (c), D Arcy Short (vc)

  • Wicket Keeper:Peter Handscomb

  • Bowler:Rashid Khan, Riley Meredith, Dan Worrall
