England Women U19 vs Pakistan Women U19 will go down on 17th January 2023, Tuesday at 5:15 PM IST, in Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. This is the second match of the tournament for both teams. England won their inaugural match with a massive 174-run win over Zimbabwe. Likewise, Pakistan is also coming from an attainable eight-wicket win over Rwanda. England currently has 2 points and is ranked first in Group B, whereas, Pakistan also has 2 points but is ranked second. England has an impressive net run rate and is significantly higher than Pakistan.  

England Women U19

In the previous match against Zimbabwe, England won the toss and chose to bat. England began on a strong foot with 99 for 2 losses in the first 10 overs. Thanks to the Scrivens and Libbie Heap partnership of 60 runs off mere 31 balls, the team got an early boost. Following the drinks break, the team scored another 100 runs - leaving the scoreboard on the brink of the 200-run mark. Holland’s partnership with Charis Pavely was strong, spotlighting six fours and a six. This match was a perfect depiction of strong batting, as well as bowling - Zimbabwe was all out in 12 overs. 

ENGW-U19 Team Batting

We only have one match performance to evaluate the batting strength of England. In the previous match against Zimbabwe, Grace Scrivens (Captain) and Libbie Heap were the first batters of the innings. Scrivens, the previous year’s second-highest run-scorer in the inaugural Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy depicted a bounce-back for the England Women U19 team after a disappointing season. She excelled in the ICC World Cup’s 6th match of the tournament and is expected to perform well in the upcoming match against Pakistan. 

Scrivens and Libbie Heap started the innings strong with a 60-run partnership. Niamh Holland made a half-century (59 runs off 37 balls) and had an 87-run partnership with Charis Pavely. 

ENGW-U19 Team Bowling

England's bowling was so effective against Zimbabwe that the batting line-up came to the point where only 15 runs were scored with 4 losses. The winning seemed far-fetched—with a 184-run barrier. The captain took 4 wickets, followed by Sophia Smale and Josie Groves who took 2 wickets each. Right-arm Fast medium, Ellie Anderson, took the wicket of Kay Ndiraya, the opening batsman for Zimbabwe—off just 2 runs. 

ENGW-U19 Team Form

England won the first match of the tournament without a hitch, and both their batters and bowlers performed well. Grace Scrivens and Niamh Holland are in good form—whereas, Scrivens outdistanced the bowling with 4/2. 

Pakistan Women U19

A humble 106/8 chase did not start on the right foot as Pakistan's opening batter; Shawaal Zulfiqar got dismissed after scoring just 1 run. Eyman Fatima, the opening batsman, had to really get into the first 10 overs of the match and were only able to get a score of 42/2. However, she came off strong in the second half and gave the winning runs. Pakistan won the match by eight wickets in 17.5 overs.  

PAKW-U19 Team Batting

Eyman Fatima played really well against Rwanda and scored 65 runs with an impeccable strike rate of 108.33. Syeda Aroob Shah also has a good strike rate. She can be a good batter to back as well. Although Shawaal Zulfiqar was not able to do well in the previous match, she may come off strong in the forthcoming match. 

PAKW-U19 Team Bowling

We are very interested in Zaib-un-Nisa who only gave away 14 runs for 1 wicket. Moreover, Areesha Noor Bhatti, two for 19 against Rwanda is also a good option to back. 

PAKW-U19 Team Form

They have won the first match of the U19 women’s T20 World Cup. Their bowling was strong against Rwanda but they need to work on batting. In the previous match, it was only Eyman Fatima who carried the match. 

ENGW-U19 vs PAKW-U19 T20 Pitch Report

The pitch at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom has been good for batting as seen in the early matches of the tournament. The average score at the ground has been 160. The bowlers will struggle here if the opposition is good.
