The final match of the three-game Test series between England and New Zealand gets underway on Friday morning at Headingley, Leeds. The home side have already wrapped up the series after wins at Lord’s and Trent Bridge earlier this month. It has been a tough tour for New Zealand with many illnesses and injuries affecting the squad. Read on as we preview this Test. This game begins at 11:00 local time.
England suddenly look like a team full of energy, direction and belief after winning the first two games of the series. We expect them to turn up at Headingley full of confidence.
New Zealand have been a shadow of the side who came to England last year and beat the hosts before winning the World Test Championship against India. They have struggled for top order runs and this must be remedied in this Test.

The home side were unchanged ahead of the Trent Bridge Test with Jack Leach preferred to Matt Parkinson as the only spinner. There were illness worries around captain Ben Stokes but we expect the skipper to be in the XI on Thursday morning. James Anderson misses this Test with an ankle injury and Jamie Overton will make his debut.
England have turned themselves around very quickly under their new captain and coach. They are targeting their third successive Test victory.

After the injury to Colin de Grandhomme, all-rounder Michael Bracewell made his Test debut for New Zealand at Trent Bridge last week. Kane Williamson was out through illness but is back to full health but Kyle Jamieson has returned home with a stress injury to his lower back.
New Zealand have lost three successive Tests for the first time since 2020 and they are keen to avoid their fourth Test defeat on the bounce for the first time since 2016.
