The opening match of the inaugural season of the International League T20 will take place between Delhi Capitals and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. The 1st Match is scheduled to take place on 13th January at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Dubai Capitals

Dubai Capitals is owned by GMR group who are the owners of IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. They have assembled a strong squad which will be led by Jamaican batsman Rovman Powell. We’ll see some of the quality T20 players like Yusuf Pathan, Sikandar Raza, Fabien Allen, Robin Uthappa, Isuru Udana, Dushmantha Chameera in this team. Sri Lankan white-ball skipper Dasun Shanaka is expected to join the side as soon as he finishes the India tour.

DUB Batting

Looking at the batting unit of the Capitals, we have some powerhouse combinations of Rovman Powell, Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, Hazratullah Zazai and Niroshan Dickwella. Out of these, Pathan and Uthappa have retired from international cricket while rest of them are still contracted with their national Cricket boards.

DUB Bowling

In the Bowling department, we can say that the combinations are pretty impressive according to the stats. Sikandar Raza has been a brilliant T20 player in the 2022 and he will have the support of Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rahman. At the pace attack, we will see Dushmantha Chameera along with fellow Sri Lankan Isuru Udana and Zimbabwean pacer Blessing Muzarabani.

This would be the first match of the brand new league so we cannot say about the team form but looking at the squad, we can say that, overall this is a strong team.

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders is owned by the Knight Riders Group, who also own Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL and Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL. Being one of the successful teams in both the leagues, the ADKR team has left no stone unturned to assemble a strong team. The Knight Riders team here will be captained by the West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine.

ABD Batting

The batting line-up consists of the mighty Andre Russell who is a well-known name in the international circuit and is also known for his power hitting abilities and his handy but effective bowling in the T20 format. Along with him we will see South African batter Colin Ingram, Ireland top-order batter Paul Stirling, England wicketkeeper batter Jonny Bairstow and West Indies batter Kennar Lewis. We can say that this is a destructive batting unit which has plenty of experience of playing on this surface.

ABD Bowling

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders’ bowling unit has skipper Sunil Narine, Akeal Hosein and Seekkuge Prasanna at the spin attack while the pace department will be handled by Lahiru Kumara, Ali Khan, Brandon Glover and Andre Russell. Ali Khan is a fast bowler from the USA national team and he has performed well for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL.

ABD Form

This will be the first time Abu Dhabi Knight Riders perform in the inaugural season of the ILT20. We are excited to see this team as the other teams from this owner group have made a reputation for themselves.
