Dolphins made just one change last time out, with Sarel Erwee replacing Morne van Wyk at the top of the order, but they will be forced into at least three more to face the Knights – Andile Phehlukwayo, David Miller and Imran Tahir are all in South Africa’s ODI squad to face Sri Lanka. Robbie Frylinck could return, however, which would at least compensate for Phelukwayo’s absence.

Without Andile Phehlukwayo and Imran Tahir, Dolphins will be without both their top run scorer and top wicket-taker so far in this season’s tournament. Phehlukwayo top-scored last time out to move to 223 runs and five wickets in four matches, while Tahir has claimed eight wickets.
If Robbie Frylinck is fit to return, however, he will fill the void left by Phehlukwayo’s absence. He was in superb form at the Bangladesh Premier League before suffering injury and has already taken six wickets in two matches and hit 32 runs from 23 balls (without yet being dismissed) in the Momentum One Day Cup.
Batting-wise, with David Miller also absent the expectation will be for Dane Vilas to step up – he has 174 runs so far, including two half-centuries – while Vaughn van Jaarsveld’s 158 runs include the 124 he hit in their opening game against the Highveld Lions.

Dolphins won their first three matches with some superb batting before their winning start came to an end last time out. First up, Vaughn van Jaarsveld hit 124 from 102 balls as they posted 342/6 against the Lions – holding on to win by 19 runs.
They passed 300 again next up – Andile Phehlukwayo hitting 69 from 61 balls in a total of 308/7 against the Titans. Robbie Frylinck then took 4-53 as they restricted Titans to 296/8 in reply.
A score of 276/7 proved enough to beat Cape Cobras, meanwhile, after Khaya Zondo hit 93. Phehlukwayo’s 4-56 helped to restrict the Cobras to 254 all out in reply.
But the winning streak ended last time out – the Dolphins dismissed for 244 despite another Phehlukwayo half-century before Warriors chased a rain-altered target of 152 to win, taking just 28 of the 31 allotted overs to claim an eight-wicket victory.

The Knights were unchanged last time out and enjoyed a much-improved batting performance but could still not end their hunt for a first win in this season’s competition. Duanne Olivier’s decision to turn his back on the national team could mean he returns, however, which would bolster the bowling line-up as he gears up for his controversial Kolpak move to Yorkshire.

Keegan Petersen is Knights’ top scorer so far, having hit an unbeaten 107 against Titans and followed that up with 52 against Cape Cobras and 88 against Warriors. His batting was also good in the 4-Day Franchise Series for Knights too and he will want to mark his 50th List A appearance with more of the same.
Though usually better known for his bowling, Ryan McLaren has hit 148 runs so far to slot in as the Knights’ second-highest run scorer. He has two half-centuries to his name from the first two matches and took 1-13 with the ball last time out too.
Jacques Snyman led the way with the ball against Warriors, however – he claimed 4-36 from his ten overs, his first four wickets of this season’s tournament. Marchant de Lange has five from two matches, having followed up his 3-45 against Cape Cobras with 2-13 against Warriors.
If Duanne Olivier is available, meanwhile, he will bolster that bowling attack considerably. The paceman took seven wickets in his two tests against Sri Lanka, having recently taken 24 in the series with Pakistan too.
KNG Team Form
Knights have played three matches so far, with a further game against the Lions abandoned due to the weather. They started with a nine-wicket defeat to Titans, despite Keegan Petersen hitting an unbeaten 107 in a total of 262/5 and have never recovered.
A score of 282/6 proved too little next up, as Cape Cobras chased it down to win by three wickets despite Marchant de Lange’s 3-45 and, most recently, they folded for 184 chasing 199 to beat Warriors in a rain-affected game. Keegan Petersen scored 88 of those 184 runs after Jacques Snyman had earlier set them up well by claiming 4-36.

The most recent match between the Dolphins and the Knights was a memorable one, finishing in a tie at Bloemfontein. Dolphins had previously won three of the last four one-day matches between the two franchises and looked set for another win when Andile Phelukwayo’s 3-49 helped restrict the Knights to 233/9.
Dolphins recovered from 59/4 in reply, thanks to Senuran Muthusamy’s 68, and when Robbie Frylinck hit Duanne Olivier for two sixes in the final over it looked to be game over.
