Upal Tharanga opened the batting last time out, replacing Andrew Birch as Dhaka changed the balance of their line-up, but he scored a six-ball duck and could not help the Dynamites end their poor run of form. Shahadat Hossain returned in place of Mahmudul Hasan but bowled just one over. Birch and Heino Kuhn are options to bring in this time, as is Darwish Rasooli. Qazi Onik and Mohor Sheikh could also come into the bowling attack.

Captain Shakib Al Hasan has led from the front for the Dhaka Dynamites and took two more wickets, for 23 runs, last time out to move to 19 for the tournament. He has also scored 274 runs and therefore leads both the Dynamites’ bowling and batting charts.
Andre Russell nearly pulled off a late comeback against the Comilla Victorians but left himself too much to do as he finished unbeaten on 30. He has contributed with bat and ball too – taking a hat-trick and then hitting 39 from 23 balls in the defeat against Chittagong Vikings.
Also contributing with both has been Sunil Narine, with 199 runs and 13 wickets for the West Indian. Rubel Hossain was their top wicket-taker last time out though, claiming 4-30 against the Victorians.

Dhaka Dynamites have lost their last five matches in a row. The poor run started with a narrow defeat defending 139/9 against Chittagong Vikings. Shakib al Hasan took 4-16 from four overs, but the Vikings hit three sixes in the final over to snatch victory.
Shakib then took 3-24 against Comilla Victorians but Andre Russell’s 24-ball 46 was not enough in reply – Dhaka scoring 146/9 in reply to 153/8.
They then failed to defend 186/6 against in-form Rangpur Riders, and finished 11 runs short in pursuit of Chittagong Vikings’ 174/5 despite a hat-trick from Andre Russell and a half-century for Shakib.
Last time out, they bowled Comilla out for just 127 – Rubel Hossain claiming 4-30 – but got tied down in the middle overs. Ten off the last two balls for Andre Russell was not quite enough – they finished on 126/9.

Khulna Titans had neither Junaid Khan nor Lasith Malinga in their team last time out, though they may have regretted that after they were hit for 237 by Comilla Victorians. One or both are likely to return in place of all-rounders Carlos Brathwaite and David Wiese, neither of whom were able to make a big impact on the game. Brathwaite did take two wickets and hit two sixes in his brief innings, however.

Brendan Taylor’s half-century continued his good form in this year’s BPL. He has played five times and scored 28, 32, 48, 34 and 50 in his five innings. He has been the Titans’ top scorer in each of the last three matches.
Junaid Siddique remains their top scorer, however, with 296 runs from 11 innings, while Mahmudullah has also passed the 200 mark in the middle order – both men also hitting a half-century each so far.
With the ball, Junaid Khan has taken 11 wickets in six games, while Lasith Malinga was in good form for Sri Lanka before flying out to join the Titans.
Taijul Islam is their top wicket-taker, however. He has 12 from ten innings but did not bowl last time out. He took three wickets apiece in the previous two matches.

Khulna Titans’ win against Sylhet Sixers was just their second of the tournament so far, but they have lost both games since. They posted 170/9 in that win, led by Brendan Taylor’s 48, and Taijul Islam took 3-32 to restrict the Sixers to 149/7 in reply.
The two teams met again next up, with Taijul claiming three more wickets, but the Sixers’ 195/4 proved far too much for the Titans – they were bowled out for just 137 in reply.
It was a similar story in their most recent game too. The bowlers took some punishment as they were set 238 to beat Comilla Victorians and, despite Brendan Taylor’s half-century, they collapsed to 157 all out in 18.5 overs.
