Lancashire are favorites to win
Derbyshire Falcons will take on Lancashire Lightning in the 2022 Vitality Blast. The game will be played at The County Ground, Derby starting at 19:00 local time on Friday June 24th.
Derbyshire Falcons were thrashed by Notts Outlaws by 94 runs on Thursday evening, a result which prevented them from going level on points with Lancashire Lightning at the top of the table. After winning the toss and choosing to field, the Falcons conceded 247-6 with George Scrimshaw picking up two wickets. However, Scrimshaw was very expensive and conceded 62 runs from his 4 overs. With the bat, there were no heroics this time from Shan Masood and in spite of 40 not out from wicket-keeper Brooke Guest, the Falcons fell to defeat.
Lancashire Lightning have won seven matches from 11 games and are still top of the North Group with 16 points on the board. They have a two point cushion ahead of second placed Birmingham Bears but were prevented from taking maximum points against Durham on Thursday evening when the rain intervened. Captain and top orde batter Steven Croft maintained his strong form with 52 not out from 41 balls and was well assisted by wicket-keeper batter George Bell.
