Comilla Victorians vs Dhaka Dynamites Final Prediction

Comilla Victorians brought back their big guns last time out, having rested them for the final league of BPL 2019. Evin Lewis, Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Saifuddin all returned, with only Sanjit Saha retained of the players who featured against Rangpur Riders in the league. After conceding just 14 runs from his four overs in the qualifier, the 21-year-old may have earned himself a place in the final.

Though expensive last time out, Mohammad Saifuddin took his 18th wicket of this year’s tournament in the win against Rangpur Riders. He also took 4-22, including a maiden, when the Victorians beat Dhaka by one run when they last met.

Shahid Afridi was economical again last time out, meanwhile. He has 16 wickets in the tournament and starred in this season’s first match between these teams, having been one of the Dynamites’ stars when they met in the 2017 play-offs. Wahab Riaz has 12 wickets since coming in, meanwhile, with Comilla’s bowling improving tenfold since his introduction.

On the batting front, Evin Lewis has hit form at the perfect moment. He returned from injury to smash an unbeaten 109 in the win against Khulna Titans and was 71* in the play-off win against Rangpur too.Shamsur Rhaman also impressed with a quick-fire 34 not out to lead the Victorians to victory. He also top-scored with 48 when Comilla beat Dhaka in their first meeting this season and has made a number of useful scores in his nine innings despite not yet passing 50.

Tamim Iqbal remains their leading run scorer, however. He has scored 326 runs from 13 matches in total, including two half-centuries.

Comilla Victorians have won five of their last six matches, with their only black mark almost inconsequential in the end – the crushing defeat to Rangpur Riders at the end of the group stage, before bouncing back against the same opposition in the play-offs.

The four-match winning streak before those matches started and ended with wins against Dhaka Dynamites, incidentally. In the first of those, Thisara Perera and Shahid Afridi shared five wickets and some economical bowling as Comilla claimed a seven-run victory.
Next, Evin Lewis smashed 109* and Wahab Riaz then clamed 3-14 in an 80-run defeat of Khulna Titans, after posting 237/5. Afridi’s 2-10 from four overs and Tamim Iqbal’s half-century kept the winning streak going against Chittagong Vikings before another win against theDynamites. On the latter occasion, Mohammad Saifuddin’s bowling earned victory – he claimed 4-22 from his four overs as the Victorians defended 127 to win by one run.

Rangpur bowled them out for 72 in the final league game but a much-changed team roared back last time out in the play-offs. The Riders set 165/5 from their 20 overs but Evin Lewis (71*), Anamul Haque (39) and Shamsur Rahman (34*) ensured Comilla earned an eight-wicket win with seven balls remaining.
