BAN vs SL 2nd Test Match Prediction & Betting Tips
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka meet in the second and final Test of the series in Dhaka at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. The first Test ended in a draw with 26 wickets falling across the five days and three centurions, one Sri Lankan and two from Bangladesh, across the first innings of the match. Read on as we preview this game. The Second Test begins on Monday at 10:00 local time.
Bangladesh had the better of the First Test and, Angelo Mathews’ big score apart, looked the most likely of either team to win the game. They will be hoping for a more bowler friendly pitch to give them the best chance.
Sri Lanka began their new era under the stewardship of former England Coach Chris Silverwood with a draw. There were plenty of positives to take away from Chittagong and they will certainly be competitive again in this match.

BAN vs SL Match Toss Prediction
Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first in Chittagong. With spin likely to be prominent early in this game, first innings runs will be even more important and we expect both skippers to want to bat first.
BAN vs SL Pitch Report
Top quality pace bowlers can take wickets on this surface but traditionally this has been a pitch where spinners can take a big number of wickets. We expect the pitch to turn early on in Dhaka.

Bangladesh Team News & Playing 11
BAN Team News
Mominul Haque’s side are really struggling in the bowling department with Nayeem Hasan the latest to be ruled out of the rest of this series through injury. He joins Shorfiul Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taskin Ahmed on the sidelines as Bangladesh are stretched to the bare bone.
BAN Key Players
- Mushfiqur Rahim- the 35 year old hit his eighth Test century last week and went past 5000 Test runs in the process. He is a fine and experienced player in any format.
- Tamim Iqbal- the opener top scored for Bangladesh in Chittagong and hit 15 fours in his innings. He requires 19 runs to go past 5000 Test runs.
- Shakib Al Hasan- the all-rounder chipped in with runs but also picked up 4 wickets across the First Test. He balances the team out brilliantly.
BAN Team Form
Bangladesh had their moments in the First Test but the pitch was not offering enough for their bowlers. With a bit more spice in this pitch they could well get the win.
Bangladesh Predicted Playing 11
Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, Mominul Haque (c), Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das (wk), Yasir Ali, Taijul Islam, Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain
Sri Lanka Team News & Playing 11
SL Team News
With the home side suffering many injury problems, the visitors have all of their XI from Chittagong to select from in Dhaka. They seemed to improve as the Test progressed and we expect Chris Silverwood to select the same team ahead of this Test.
SL Key Players
- Dimuth Karunaratne- the skipper has scored at least one century in each of his last three Test series. He only got a 50 in Chittagong but will have his eyes on another ton in this Test.
- Angleo Mathews- the experienced middle-order batter once again was key to his country in the First Test. By being dismissed for 199, he has become the first Test player to have been dismissed on 99 and 199.
- Lasith Embuldeniya- the spinner picked up the wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim in Chittagong and was another player who found the going tough. We expect him to be more threatening in Dhaka.
SL Team Form
After the heavy defeats to Indian earlier in the year, forcing a draw, particularly after looking frail at times in Chittagong, was very important.
Sri Lanka Predicted Playing 11
Kusal Mendis, Dimuth Karunaratne (c), Oshada Fernando, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Dinesh Chandimal, Lasith Embuldeniya, Ramesh Mendis, Vishwa Fernando, Kasun Rajitha

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Betting Odds
The bookies are favouring the home side ahead of the series decider in Dhaka. However, they are not completely ruling out Sri Lanka and are expecting a well fought Test.
Who will win Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test Match?
Bangladesh’s only Test victory over Sri Lanka came in Colombo in March 2017 but the bookies clearly feel that Bangladesh should be confident of getting another win in Dhaka.
Angelo Mathews hit his second highest Test score in Chittagong. We expect him and the other centurions from the First Test, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim, to all be in the runs again in this Test.

🏆 Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Prediction
All the indications are that this pitch will offer the bowlers a little bit more than what we saw in Chittagong and it is for that reason that we expect to see a win in this Test. Sri Lanka will be competitive and will have their chances but we are backing Bangladesh to win.
