BAN vs IND 2nd Test Match Prediction & Betting Tips

Bangladesh will take on India at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The second match of the Test series gets underway at 10:00 local time on Thursday 22nd December.

Bangladesh

The hosts showed plenty of fight in their second innings and the fourth innings of the Test in Chattogram but lost the match across the first innings where they gave up a 254 run deficit. If Bangladesh can start this game with a higher level of performance then a win for them is not out of the question.

BAN Batting

The first innings with the bat in Chattogram saw Bangladesh bowled out for 150 with only four players making scores in the 20s. Zakir Hasan made a century in the second innings on his Test debut and shared in a 124 run opening partnership with Najmul Hossain Shanto.

BAN Bowling

After impressing in the ODIs with bat and ball, Mehidy Hasan Miraz again caught the eye with the ball. We expect the spin of Shakib Al Hasan to be a threat to the Indian batters in this game whilst Taijul Islam and Miraz both took four wickets in India’s first innings last week.

BAN Form

It is now eight games without a win in this format for Bangladesh. They were outplayed over the first 3.5 days in the first Test.

India

Captain Rohit Sharma and fast bowler Navdeep Saini have both been ruled out of the Second Test through injury. Although both players did not play in the opening game of the series so we expect India to be unchanged after the convincing win in Chattogram.

IND Batting

First innings runs are always crucial in Test cricket and the contributions of 90 from Cheteshwar Pujara, 86 from Shreyas Iyer and 58 from Ravichandran Ashwin were just that in Chattogram. We expect to see the likes of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill deliver in this Test.

IND Bowling

It was a fine bowling performance from India’s injury-weakened attack in the first Test and we expect the same players to put Bangladesh’s batters under pressure from the first ball to the last in Mirpur. The wrist spin of Kuldeep Yadav delivered some unplayable balls last week and we expect more of the same here.

IND Form

India have won three of their last four Tests with the only defeat coming against England at Edgbaston in early July.

The match will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. This pitch in Mirpur will turn slowly to begin with but offer more quick spin as the Test progresses. Any score over 350 in the first innings will be competitive.
