Who will win Australia vs Sri Lanka, 3rd WT20?
World champions Australia will look to wrap up a dominant series whitewash when they take on Sri Lanka at the North Sydney Oval in the third and final game of this WT20i series. The match takes place on October 2 and starts at 14:10 local time.
The hosts have already won the series thanks to two dominant performances. Beth Mooney led the way with a century in the first game as they posted 217/4 and won by 41 runs, while it was the bowlers on top last time as they restricted Sri Lanka to 84/8 on their way to a nine-wicket win.
With Australia dominant with bat and ball, it is only highlighted the big gap between these two teams in women’s international cricket. Sri Lankan captain Chamari Atapattu hit a century in the first game, but the quality beyond Atapattu is not comparable to the Aussies’ phenomenal strength in depth.

AUSW vs SLW Toss Prediction
Meg Lanning has joked how she does not have much luck with the toss – roping in Alyssa Healy for the first game. Sri Lanka won the toss last time out and batted and that remains the best tactic on this pitch, despite their low score.
AUSW vs SLW Weather Report
There will be barely a cloud in the Sydney sky on Wednesday, with conditions forecast to be sunny throughout. Temperatures will touch 20 degrees Celsius and there is no rain expected.
AUSW vs SLW Pitch Condition
The North Syndey Oval is generally a bit flat and favours batting – the Aussies have certainly taken full advantage of that so far in this series.

AUSW Team News
With Erin Burns and Nicola Carey returning to the team last time out, only Heather Graham has not been used in the current squad. That should change for the final game with more rotation expected, now Australia have confirmed their series win.
AUSW Key Players
Beth Mooney: The opening batsmen is in superb form with the bat. She hit 113 in the first game, including 20 fours, and was unbeaten on 28 last time out too. Her form has boosted her average to 33.48 as she closes in on 1,000 WT20i runs.
Ellyse Perry: Australia’s star all-rounder has faced just four balls with the bat – remaining unbeaten at the end of the innings in the first game – but her bowling came to the fore last time as she claimed 2-21 from her four overs.
Alyssa Healy: The wicket-keeper-batsman hit top form coming into this series and that has not slowed either. Healy hit 43 from 21 balls in the first game and 21 from 15 last time out too.
AUSW Team Form
Australia have been in dominant form in this series. Beth Mooney’s century helped them to 217/4 in the first game, with Alyssa Healy (43) and Ashleigh Gardner (49) also chipping in with useful runs, before they restricted Sri Lanka to 176/7.
The bowlers were then on top last time out – Ellyse Perry claiming 2-21 and Tayla Vlaeminck, Nicola Carey, Megan Schutt and Georgia Wareham all adding a wicket each and economical bowling to restrict Sri Lanka to 84/8. Australia made light work of the chase, reaching 87/1 in 9.4 overs.

Inoshi Priyadharshani replaced Sugandika Kumara last time out, in the only change from the first game, but bowled just one expensive over as Australia made light work of their chase. Sri Lanka have travelled with 15, so there could be changes for the final game, though there are still the WODIs to come – with the same squad – too.
SLW Key Players
Chamari Atapattu: Her century in the first game of this series was the first by a Sri Lankan in WT20i cricket and underlined her quality and importance to this team. She is also capable of chipping in with useful wickets too.
Shashikala Siriwardene: The experienced all-rounder was one of the few Sri Lankan batsmen to show some staying power last time out, while her wicket in the first match was her 70th in 73 WT20i innings.
Oshadi Ranasinghe: Concluded the series with England in March with two wickets and started this series with two more. As well as 28 WT20i wickets, she has bowled economically in her WT20i career too – going at 6.83 runs per over.
SLW Team Form
Defeat in this game for Sri Lanka would make it three consecutive 3-0 defeats since the Women’s World T20. Chamari Atapattu scored a century as they posted their highest ever WT20i score in the first game but 176/7 was still well short of their target of 218 to win.
And they simply could not get going last time out, posting just 84/8 from their 20 overs before eventually falling to a nine-wicket defeat.
SL Women Predicted Playing 11
Chamari Atapattu, Yashoda Mendis, Hanisma Karunaratne, Shashikala Siriwardene, Oshadi Ranasinghe, Harshitha Madavi, Anushka Sanjeewani, Nilakshi de Silva, Udeshika Prabodhani, Sugandika Kumari, Achini Kulasuriya
AUS Women vs SL Women Head to Head
Australia have won both matches in this series to maintain their 100 per cent record in this fixture. They have won all four games they have played against Sri Lanka. Both the batsmen and bowlers have starred in this fixture for Australia, as they have in this series, with Beth Mooney’s century helping them to victory in the first game – despite Chamari Atapattu hitting 113 in reply – before economical bowling was key last time out. Australia’s dominant victories have showed why they are top of the world rankings and Sri Lanka are down in eighth.

AUS Women vs SL Women Betting Odds
Australia have showed their total dominance in this series so far and their odds have shortened game by game as a result.
AUSW Bet365 Odds
- AUSW to Win the Match: Australia Women are just 1.01 favourites to beat Sri Lanka with Bet365.
- AUSW Top Batsman: Beth Mooney has been their batting star so far and she is 3.75 to top score for Australia again with Bet365. Erin Burns did outscore her last time though, having been promoted up the order, and she is 7.00. Alyssa Healy’s own good form has continued too and the wicket-keeper-batsman is 3.25 to be Australia’s top batsman with Bet365, while Meg Lanning is 3.75.
- AUSW Top Bowler: Ellyse Perry was the only Australian bowler to claim two wickets last time out and she is 4.00 to be Australia’s top bowler in this third game with Bet365. Megan Schutt can be backed at the same price, while Georgia Wareham’s bowling form so far could make her worth backing at 5.00. Nicola Carey took 1-9 from her four overs last time out and is 5.50 to be Australia’s top bowler with Bet365.
SLW Bet365 Odds
- SLW to Win the Match: Sri Lanka Women are massive 17.00 outsiders to beat Australia in Sydney with Bet365.
- SLW Top Batsman: Chamari Atapattu has marked herself as Sri Lanka’s key batsmen and, after her century in the first game, she is 2.50 to be their top batsman again with Bet365. No other Sri Lankan batsman is listed at less than 6.00, where you can back wicket-keeper-batsman Anushka Sanjeewani or new opener Yashoda Mendis. Shashikala Siriwardene stuck around a bit last time out and she is 7.00, while Hansima Karunaratne top-scored in one of Sri Lanka’s recent defeats against England but can be backed at 9.00.
- SLW Top Bowler: After her two wickets in the first game, it is surprising to see Oshadi Ranasinghe priced at 6.00 to be Sri Lanka’s top bowler with Bet365. Siriwardene is 4.50 having proved a useful WT20i wicket-taker, while Udeshika Prabodhani – who took the only Australian wicket to fall last time out – is 4.00 with Bet365.
🏆 AUS Women vs SL Women Prediction
Australia are massive odds-on favourites to beat Sri Lanka but there is a very good reason for that – they are leagues ahead of Sri Lanka in the batting and bowling departments and should wrap up a dominant series whitewash in this game.
