Aus vs Eng 1st Test Day 2 Highlights
England resumed their innings on Day 2 of the first Ashes test at 196/4. Dawid Malan and Moeen Ali batted well to take the score to 264-4, but a lower order batting collapse meant that the visitors were restricted to 302 having lost their last six wickets for just 56 runs. Australia in reply got off to a very shaky start losing four wickets for just 76 runs on the board. The hosts were in trouble at that stage before a fine partnership between captain Steven Smith and Peter Handscomb bailed them out and hauled the team to 165/4 at the close of second day's play.

Day 2 Highlights and Day 3 Preview
Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins brought Australia back into the game, finishing off with three wickets apiece. Nathan Lyon continued his good work from Day 1 and though the offspinner deserved a few more wickets, his figures read 2-78. Steven Smith (64*) and Shaun Marsh (44*) were the highlights with the bat, resurrecting the Australian innings after it had wobbled at the start. Now with only one more recognized batsman left in the tank, this pair will hold the key in taking Australia past England's total of 302.

Australia vs England 1st Test Day 3 Predictin
After two days of absorbing test cricket, it looks pretty even-steven at the moment. Australia have arguably the world's best batsman at the crease for them batting at 64 along with Shaun Marsh who too has looked promising. England's bowlers toiled hard after picking up the first four wickets and with these two batsmen set, the hosts seem to have their noses in front, but only just.
Final Verdict: Back Australia to beat England in the first test at 1.78 on 1xbet and 1.72 on Bet365.
