Australia Legends are favorites to win
Australia Legends will take on Bangladesh Legends in Match 11 of the Road Safety World Series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. The game begins at 19:30 local time on Sunday 18th September.
After missing the first edition of this tournament due to travel restrictions, Australia Legends have played one and lost one so far this year. They were beaten by the very strong Sri Lanka Legends and will certainly be expecting an easier contest against Bangladesh Legends.
Chasing 219 for victory, the Australia Legends side certainly had a go but came up short and were bowled out for 180 from 18 overs. Nathan Reardon top scored with 46 not out from 19 balls and the opening pair of Shane Watson and Cameron White put on 75 inside seven overs.
It was very hard going for the Australia Legends’ bowling attack in Kanpur with only Brett Lee making one breakthrough across their 20 overs in the field. Dirk Nannes and Chad Sayers were the only bowlers to concede less than 10 runs per over in the defeat against Sri Lanka Legends.
With no games last season to base form on, Australia Legends will be looking to learn the lessons from the heavy defeat on Sunday and take them into this game.
It is now seven games, when you include their 2021 campaign, without a victory for Bangladesh Legends in the Road Safety World Series. According to the records, they won this game last year, but that was only due to Australia Legends having to forfeit each of their matches.
Keeper-batter, Dhiman Ghosh, has been the star batter for Bangladesh Legends in both games in this year’s tournament and has top scored for his side in both. Alok Kipali has scored 56 runs across the two matches and made 37 not out from 21 balls in the defeat to New Zealand Legends.
Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak has taken a wicket in both fixtures, picking up 1-23 against West Indies Legends and 1-12 against New Zealand Legends. He has not found a great deal of support from his team-mates with Dolar Mahmud conceding 21 runs from his only over on Saturday.
Bangladesh Legends are without doubt the weakest team in the competition. A victory in this match would be seen as a huge shock.
The match will be played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. Spin bowlers have had the most success on this pitch so far in the tournament and we predict a par score to be in the region of 185-195.

Although Australia Legends are relative new-comers in this competition, we still expect them to be too strong for a Bangladesh Legends team who have struggled against all sides. Australia have a powerful team and we are backing them to win this match.
