Toss Prediction
So far, the Perth Stadium has hosted just one international game - an ODI between Australia and England this year in January. England batted first in that game and went on to win by 12 runs. Since the pitch is expected to favor the bowlers slightly more during the second period of play, the toss-winning skipper may elect to bat first.

Australia Team News & Playing 11
AUS Team News
Aaron Finch is set to lead Australia's 14-man squad as he has taken over the ODI captaincy from Tim Paine who has been ignored for this three-match series. In Paine's absence, Alex Carey will be taking up the wicket-keeping responsibility. The selectors have also excluded Mitchell Marsh and test specialist Nathan Lyon in order to manage their workload. However, this series will see the return of explosive batsman Chris Lynn along with fast bowlers Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood who is coming after an injury lay off. The hosts have included two spinners in their squad - Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar - and only one of them will feature in the starting eleven.
AUS Key Players
Aaron Finch, Chris Lynn, Shaun Marsh and Travis Head are the key figures in this Australian batting line-up. Skipper Finch is the leading run-getter for Australia in ODIs from this current squad while Shaun Marsh and Travis Head both had a good ODI series in England where they hit two centuries and three fifties respectively. Lynn is a very destructive white-ball batsman and he could take the hosts off to a blazing start. Marcus Stoinis has a score of 87 in the only ODI at this ground and he will also have a big role to play with the ball as well. The key men in this Australian bowling attack, however, are Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. The Aussies will be counting on this pace triplet to rock South Africa's top-order early on. Hazlewood is fifth in the ICC ODI bowling rankings and he seems more likely to finish with the best figures.
AUS Recent Form
Australia's performance in the fifty-over format has dipped drastically in recent times and they have now slid to the sixth spot in the ICC ODI rankings. They have played ten one-day internationals this year out of which they have lost nine and won just one. The Aussies are coming into this series after having been whitewashed 0-5 by England in their last ODI series which was played in England in the month of June.

South Africa Team News & Playing 11
SA Team News
South Africa have been hit by a few injury blows ahead of their short limited-overs tour of Australia. Opening batsman Hashim Amla, middle-order specialist JP Duminy and allrounder Wiaan Mulder have all been ruled out due to their respective injuries. While Amla is still recovering from his finger injury he had sustained during the Carribean Premier League, Duminy aggravated his shoulder injury during the recent series against Zimbabwe. The absence of Mulder has made way for Dwaine Pretorius while Duminy has been replaced in the middle order by Farhaan Behardien who has returned to the ODI set-up along with allrounder Chris Morris. Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram are likely to open the batting for South Africa.
SA Key Players
In the absence of Hashim Amla, South Africa's top-order batting is going to rely heavily on Quinton de Kock. Aiden Markram and skipper Faf du Plessis. Markram was one of the highest run-scorers in the recent ODI series in Zimbabwe and he is coming off after warming up with a good knock of 47 in the practice match against Prime Ministers XI. His opening partner de Kock is among the top ten ODI batsmen in the world and the Proteas will expect a strong contribution from him as well. Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Imran Tahir will be the big threats with the ball. Rabada is ranked sixth in the ODI bowling rankings with 86 wickets in 54 matches while Tahir who is seventh on that list was the most successful bowler in the Zimbabwe ODI series with ten wickets in three matches.
SA Recent Form
South Africa have been blowing hot and cold when it comes to the ODI format - they have won seven and lost as many out of the fourteen matches they have played so far since the start of this year. Their most recent ODI assignment was a three-match series against Zimbabwe at home in September-October which they ended up winning 3-0. Prior to that, the Proteas had registered a 3-2 series win over Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.
South Africa Predicted Playing 11
Aiden Markram, Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Faf du Plessis (c), David Miller, Farhaan Behardien, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Dale Steyn, Lungi Ngidi, Imran Tahir
