Toss Prediction
The Gabba has hosted only three T20 internationals so far out of which two have been won by the side batting first. However, since the wicket at this ground generally remains true throughout the course of a game, the team that wins the toss here is more likely to bowl first.

AUS Team News
Aaron Finch will be in charge of the 13-man squad that Australia have named for this T20I series against India. The selectors have called up all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and fast bowler Jason Behrendorff while test regulars Mitchell Marsh, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc have all been rested to keep them fresh for the test series.
AUS Key Players
Aaron Finch, the world No. 2 T20I batsman, is a key component in this Australian batting group. The skipper's form in this format has taken a dip in the past few matches and the team will be hoping that he gets back into the groove in the series opener. Chris Lynn, D'Arcy Short and Glenn Maxwell are the others who can be a massive headache for the opposition's bowlers on their day. Marcus Stoinis has been doing a good job with the ball lately and he along with Andrew Tye and Nathan Coulter-Nile will be the biggest threats in this Australian bowling attack. Tye has taken the most T20I wickets from the current squad and he won't be easy to score off, especially toward the back-end of the innings. Coulter-Nile has the ability to generate good bounce off the pitch and that could make the Indian batsmen a bit uncomfortable.
AUS Recent Form
Australia have played 16 T20 internationals this year out of which they have won 9 and lost 7. The Aussies have lost five of their previous six matches in this format, including the last four straight. Their most recent T20I encounter came last week against South Africa at Carrara which they lost by 21 runs. Prior to that, Australia suffered a 0-3 thrashing at the hands of Pakistan in the UAE.
Australia Predicted Playing 11
Aaron Finch (c), Chris Lynn, D'Arcy Short, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Ben McDermott, Alex Carey (wk), Andrew Tye, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jason Behrendorff/Adam Zampa, Billy Stanlake

IND Team News
Former India captain MS Dhoni has been left out of the 13-man squad for the T20 international series against Australia. Another notable omission is that of all-rounder Hardik Pandya who is currently recovering from a back injury. Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant are the two specialist wicketkeepers in the side.
IND Key Players
Rohit Sharma is currently in superb T20 form. The opener has scored 560 runs this year in this format which includes two centuries and three fifties. Apart from him, Shikhar Dhawan who is coming off a fantastic T20I series against the West Indies along with skipper Virat Kohli who can destroy any bowling attack in the world are the other two key figures for India with the bat. When it comes to bowling, the visitors will turn to their go-to men in Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. With Bhuvneshwar not looking in the best of forms at the moment, it will be up to Bumrah to dent Australia's innings with a few early blows. Kuldeep and Chahal will come into play soon after the powerplay and both the wrist-spinners will look to exploit Australia's weakness against spin bowling.
IND Recent Form
India have shown remarkable form in the twenty-over format of late, winning 13 out of the 16 T20 internationals they have played this year. They have faced defeat just once in their last eleven matches and that solitary loss had come in July against England at Cardiff. India's most recent T20I assignment came against the West Indies at home earlier this month. It was a three-match series which they ended up winning 3-0.
India Predicted Playing 11
Rohit Sharma, Shikar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli (c), Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah
