Experimenting too much cost India big time in the second ODI as West Indies defeated the team by six wickets to level the series. India surprised many when they rested Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from the second ODI. The team paid heavy consequences of the same as India could only score 181 in their innings and Shai Hope’s brilliant half-century was enough for West Indies to cruise to a win.
India are likely to experiment again in the final ODI but they are most likely to bring in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back into the playing 11. Sanju Samson and Axar Patel returned to the team and they should retain their place. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan can be rested.
The pitch in two games was damp and batting was not easy. However, the 3rd ODI will be played in Trinidad and we are expecting a much better batting surface. Spinners still will be key.
There is a 40 per cent chance of rain on the match day. The temperature will range between 32 and 24 degrees.

India rested Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from the second ODI but both are likely to come back into the playing 11 for the final ODI.
Overall, head-to-head stats show that West Indies have been competitive against India but the Men in Blue have dominated the hosts in the last decade or so.

Virat Kohli has not batted in the two games of the series. He was not required to bat in the first game and did not play the second game. Kohli, however, is likely to return and bat at 3. The batter has been in great form in recent times, scoring centuries in all formats.
Rohit Sharma is also likely to return to the team. Rohit has been on good form on the tour, scoring a century in the first Test, and 80 in the second Test. He will be looking to perform well in the deciding ODI as well.
The wickets have been helpful for spinners so Jadeja is a must in the team. He can pick 2-3 wickets in his spell and also contribute heavily with the bat if required.
Kuldeep Yadav has been the best Indian bowler in two games. He has got the ball to grip and turn and Windies batters have looked clueless against him. Kuldeep is expected to have another good outing in the series decider.
Shai Hope showed his class and scored a gritty 63 to lead West Indies to a win in the 2nd ODI. The captain will once again play a huge role if Windies have to script an unlikely series win.
