Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars will kick off the Big Bash League 2022. They reached the playoffs in the previous edition but were knocked out by Adelaide Strikers. They will be looking to go the distance this time around. They have a good team at their disposal with players like Chris Green, Rilee Rossouw, Daniel Sams, and Ben Cutting among others.
Meanwhile, the Stars failed to reach the playoffs last year after losing 7 of the 14 games. They too have some good players in the squad like Marcus Stoinis, Hilton Cartwright, Trent Boult, and Nathan Coulter-Nile among others.
The surface should be a good one to bat. It will be a hard surface where the ball will come on nicely onto the bat. We could be in for a high-scoring game.
The good news is that rain is not a threat to the game. However, the temperature could dip to 8 degrees in the evening which could be quite chilly conditions to play.

Hilton Cartwright is one of the best players going around in BBL. The destructive batter is a match-winner for any team he plays for and Sydney Thunder will be hoping that he has a really good tournament with the bat.
Marcus Stoinis is a wonderful player to have in the team. Stoinis is a destructive top-order batter and almost every time bowls his full quota of overs so he is a top player to have in the team who can give high fantasy points.
Alex Hales has a decent run in the T20 World Cup and he will be looking to take over his form to the BBL as well. Hales is one of the most destructive players and will be hard to stop when he gets on song.
Trent Boult is an experienced campaigner and will lead the Stars’ bowling attack. Boult with his abilities will be a tough bowler to face with the new ball. Boult played a significant role in Mumbai Indians’ dominant run in IPL and he will be looking to do the same for the Stars.
Adam Zampa is also a brilliant bowler to have. Zampa on these big Australian grounds will not be easy to score off, giving him an opportunity to pick multiple wickets.
