Rajasthan Royals had a great start to IPL 2023 as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 72 runs in the first game after posting a massive score of over 200 on the board and then dismantling the SRH with their bowling. In the second game, the team suffered a defeat by 5 runs, chasing 197. RR looks a strong team on paper with all bases covered and it won’t be easy for Delhi Capitals to beat them in their home ground.
For the David Warner-led side, they have lost their first two games and that too very comprehensively. The team need to turn things around quickly if there are to make a comeback into the tournament.
The wicket will be a belter to bat, as we saw in the last game. The ball will come on nicely and short boundaries will allow the batters to play their shots easily. Dew will also help the batters.
It will a clear day with temperatures around 33 degrees. There was massive dew here in the last game and things won’t be easy for the bowlers again. The chasing team will have a big advantage.

Rajasthan Royals can replace KM Asif with either Sandeep Sharma or Navdeep Saini. Devdutt Padikkal has also struggled but the team is likely to stick with him. There are also reports that Jos Buttler could miss the game due to a finger injury. Delhi should play the same team.
There is very little to choose from between both teams.

Recommended: Detailed Head to Head Stats of RR vs DC
Wicketkeeper | Jos Buttler (C), Sanju Samson |
---|---|
Batters | David Warner, Shimron Hetmyer, Rilee Rossouw |
All-rounders | Mitchell Marsh (VC), Axar Patel, Jason Holder |
Bowlers | Anrich Nortje, Trent Boult, Yuzi Chahal |
Jos Buttler missed out in the last game but given the flat wicket and the form he is in, Jos Buttler will be the biggest wicket Delhi would want to take. If Buttler stays at the wicket for long, it will carnage in Guwahati.
Sanju Samson has also been in great form. He scored a fifty in the first game and also played well against Punjab Kings in the last outing. Sanju is looking in sublime touch and would be keen to pick some great momentum early in the tournament.
Yuzi Chahal has once again risen to the occasion for RR. Chahal has taken five wickets in two matches. The conditions were tough in the last game in Guwahati, still, he did fairly well.
Mitchell Marsh has some great form behind him and the team will be expecting him to turn things on quickly in IPL. Marsh is a good pick as he can contribute both with bat and ball.
Nortje was on fire in Delhi’s last game against Gujarat Titans. He bowled with great pace and rattled the top order. A similar show is expected from him in the coming game.
