Unlike the ODI series, the first T20I between Ireland and New Zealand was a one-sided affair as NZ comprehensively beat the hosts by 31 runs. Ireland at one point had reduced New Zealand to 54-4 and had they capitalised on the opportunity, they could have restricted New Zealand to a low score and the result could have been different.
However, Glenn Phillips bailed New Zealand out of trouble with a blazing 50 and helped NZ post 173, which was a daunting task. Ireland in the limited overs series have shown that they can bounce back and give NZ a run for their money thus the visitors cannot take Ireland lightly in the next game.
The surface in the first game was a belter and it is not expected to change much in the next game as well. We are expecting a run feast in Belfast tomorrow.
The weather will be cloudy and there is a 10 chance of rain as well. However, the rain, if arrives, will come in the morning thus it should not have any impact on the game.
Paul Stirling, Andrew Balbirnie (c), Gareth Delany, Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Lorcan Tucker (wk), Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, Craig Young, Joshua Little
Martin Guptill, Finn Allen, Dane Cleaver (wk), Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner (c), Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson, Jacob Duffy
Ireland are playing their full-strength squad thus they won’t make any changes unless any of their players pick up an injury. Meanwhile, NZ should not change their winning combination.
The two teams haven’t played many T20Is against each other and when they have met, New Zealand have emerged victorious.

He is one of the most dangerous batters for Ireland and can single handedly win the game for his team. He failed in the first game but scored a century in the final ODI. He is a good pick for our team
Guptill was looking dangerous in the first game and stroked a few crisp boundaries before being dismissed. He has been in good form in the series and scored hundred in the final ODI. He too has to be in the team.
None of Ireland players performed well in the first game. However, Tector is in good form and scored two hundreds in the ODI series. Given the form, he is a good player to have.
He is a good bowler to have in the team. He has been doing well for Ireland in T20Is for a long time now. He picked up a couple of Wickes in the last game and also scored handy 25 runs.
Santner is a very underrated T20 bowler. He bowls with great economy and is not easy to get away which allows him to pick a lot of wickets. He is a handy lower order batter as well.
