Dindigul Dragons suffered a big defeat to Lyca Kovai Kings in the Qualifier 1. The team played well in the group stage but were not up to the mark. Having conceded 193-7 in 20 overs to Lyca Kovai Kings, the team could only manage 163-9 in the chase to lose the game by 30 runs. However, since they finished in the top 2 after the league stage, they got another shot and booked a clash with Nellai Royal Kings, who defeated Madurai Panthers by 4 runs in the Eliminator.
Nellai batted first and scored 211-6, courtesy of Nidhish Rajagopal’s 76. Madurai batted well too and took the game close but they fell agonisingly short of the target by 4 runs.
The pitch is expected to favour the bowlers at the start but will ease out soon to become a very good batting surface. The team winning the toss should bowl first to take advantage of the juicy conditions.
It will be a cloudy day with a 10 per cent chance of rain. The humidity will be around 50 per cent while the wind speed will be 16 km/h

Guruswami continued his dream run in TNPL 2023 and played a top knock of 50 runs in 30 balls in Qualifier. He also moved to second in the list of most runs this season. He has 311 runs to his name so far.
After an ordinary run in the league stage, Rajagopal showcased his class and played a whirlwind innings of 76 in 50 balls to help the Kings post a massive score on the board. With runs in the Eliminator, Rajagopal will back himself to do well in Qualifier 2 as well.
M Poiyamozhi bowled well in the Eliminator and picked up a wicket for 29 runs. He has been the most consistent bowler for Nellai Kings and has taken 12 wickets in the tournament. Back him to have another good outing in the Qualifier 2
Arun Karthik does not have much to show in the tournament so far apart from a century against Chepauk Super Gillies. Karthik will be looking to make an impact in a must-win game and take his team to the final.
Varun Chakravarthy will be key for the Dragons with the ball. The spinner has taken 12 wickets this season and has played a big role in the team’s run to the playoffs.
