Zimbabwe is finally going to have its own franchise cricket league starting this July. The Zim Afro T10 league is set to commence its inaugural season on 20th July at Harare, Zimbabwe. The league will follow round-robin, playoffs and the final will take place on 29th July.
5 franchise teams, representing the cities of Zimbabwe and South Africa, will participate in the inaugural season of the Zim Afro T10 2023. Many popular players are going to be part of the league.
If we have to pick one team, we will back the local team Harare Hurricanes to win the Zim Afro T10 league 2023.
The team is well balanced when it comes to the squad assemble. For the first time, we will see Indian players participating in the cricket league outside of India. Hurricanes will have Robin Uthappa, Irfan Pathan and S Sreesanth from India. Uthappa is one of the top batters in the IPL history.
Strengthening the batting line-up, the Hurricanes have Eoin Morgan, Evin Lewis, Mohammad Nabi and Regis Chakabva. Evin Lewis has shown his power hitting abilities in various short-format leagues.
In the bowling department, Harare Hurricanes have Shahnawaz Dahani, Irfan Pathan, Sreesanth, Mohammad Nabi, Duan Jansen and Samit Patel. This looks like a promising line-up which has a good blend of spinners and pacers. Samit Patel from England has also been part of various leagues and has made a name for himself. Samit Patel and Mohammad Nabi will be an interesting spin combination to watch out for.

The Cape Town Samp Army team is from South Africa representing the city of Cape Town. The squad is assembled with high-quality short format players from different countries.

Zim Afro T10 is a brand new cricket league which is set to take place in Zimbabwe. It is known as ‘Zim Afro’ as it represents 5 franchise teams from Zimbabwe and South Africa. . The league will follow the t10 format in which each innings will have 10 overs and the duration of the match will be approximately 90 minutes.
The league is owned by T Ten Sports Management who have also conducted the Abu Dhabi T10 league which gained popularity in its first season in 2017.
Zim Afro T10 league will kick-off on 20th July and the final match will take place on 29th July. All the matches will take place at the Harare Sports Club in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The introduction of franchise cricket in Zimbabwe will give opportunities to many talented players in the region. We will see many popular cricketers from different cricketing nations in the inaugural season of the Zim Afro T10.
