Who will win Maharaja Trophy T20 2024

6 teams, representing 6 regions of Karnataka, will face each other in a round-robin once again in the Maharaja Trophy T20 2023 edition. The 2023 season will have 33 matches to be played in the famous M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Gulbarga Mystics are the current champions after winning the last season under the captaincy of Manish Pandey but he will play for Hubli Tigers in the upcoming season.

This year the teams are wearing new looks after the drafts.

After analysing the squads and current form, we are backing Bengaluru Blasters to win the Maharaja Trophy T20 2023, who are the runners-up of the 2022 edition. They finished the last season at the top of the points table.

In the batting department, they have two of the leading run scorers of last season - Mayank Agarwal and Pavan Deshpande. They have a strong batting line-up who can smash big on the scoreboard.

Coming to the bowling department, we can say that this is one of the strong line-up in the tournament. Abhimanyu Mithun performed well with the ball and bat both in the last season. Left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan will be fit for this season and he is a terrific bowler. Along with them the Blasters have Pradeep and Bopanna who picked 13 and 14 wickets last year, respectively.

Mangalore Dragons did not have a good outing in the 2022 season. They finished at the 5th position on the points table.

Some of the top batters like Krishnappa Gowtham, Nikin Jose and BR Sharath will play for the Dragons side in the Maharaja Trophy T20 2023 edition. Gowtham scored 171 runs in 10 matches in 2022 while Nikin Jose was brilliant with the bat smashing 289 runs and Sharath scored 188 runs.

But the main batter in this side will be Rohan Patil who smashed a whopping 397 runs in 12 matches at an average of 39.70. He was the Player of the Tournament in the Maharaja T20 2022.

Krishnappa Gowtham will also be heading the bowling department after picking 11 wickets in 10 matches last year.

Gulbarga Mystics lifted the Maharaja Trophy in the last season in 2022. They finished at the 2nd spot on the table and defeated Bengaluru Blasters in the final match.

Chethan was the 2nd highest run scorer of the season in the last edition and he will play for Mystics this year. He scored 447 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 173.25. IPL fame Devdutt Padikkal was also among the top batters last season, scoring 385 runs in 10 innings.

In the bowling department, Mystics have Vijaykumar Vyshak, who also featured in the IPL 2023 in the RCB team and Avinash. Both the bowlers picked 12 wickets in 10 matches in the last edition.

Bengaluru Blasters ended up as the runner-up side in the Maharaja Trophy 2022 season. They topped the points table in the league stage with 7 wins in 10 matches but lost the final match to the Mystics.

The batting department is equipped with Mayank Agarwal and Pavan Deshpande who will lead the line-up. Agarwal was the leading run scorer of the last season, smashing 496 runs in 12 innings while Deshpande scored 434 runs in 11 innings.

In the bowling department, we will see left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan in the Blasters side. He missed last season but he is fit for this season now.
