The 3rd season of the Sri Lanka’s LPL T20 league is set to take place from 6th December to 23rd December, 2022. The 5 teams will compete with each other in a round-robin format then the top 4 teams of the table will proceed to the playoffs.
Thisara Perera led Jaffna Kings has won both the previous seasons of Lanka Premier League. They are certainly a strong side this year as well but we want to back a new team to lift the trophy this year.
Analysing the squads, we are backing Wanindu Hasaranga led Kandy Falcons (previously known as Kandy Warriors) to lift the LPL 2022 trophy. Hasaranga is a terrific bowling all-rounder and he has made some of the top batters his target which has resulted in him currently sitting at the top of the ICC rankings for T20I bowlers.
19-year-old South African batsman, Dewald Brevis will be seen in the Falcons clan along with Andre Fletcher, Chris Green, Isuru Udana, Carlos Brathwaite and Chamika Karunaratne. Minod Bhanuka will strengthen the batting side while another 19-year-old player Matheesha Pathirana will get a chance to play with his bowling skills.
