Who will win West Indies Women vs India Women, 3rd ODI 2019?
West Indies Women and India Women take their three-match WODI series into a final-game decider in Antigua, after each winning one match apiece. The series comes to a close at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on November 6, with the match due to start at 09:30 local time.
After Anisa Mohammed dismissed Poonam Yadav off the final ball to help West Indies win the first game by one run – the spinner claiming 5-46 in total, to ensure Stafanie Taylor’s 94 was a match-winning score – India hit back in the second game.
Punam Raut hit 77 as India posted 191/6 in the second game, but that proved more than enough as they bowled West Indies out for 138 to keep them on track for a top-four spot in the ICC Women’s Championship and automatic place at the World Cup as a result.

WI Team News
Hayley Matthews is available again after serving an eight-game ban for an undisclosed breach of the Cricket West Indies Board’s Code of Conduct. The star all-rounder could slot in for Natasha McLean, who retired hurt during the first match. Afy Fletcher returned last time out, meanwhile, and bowled well after slotting in for Shawnisa Hector. Shabika Gajnabi was the other player to come into the team.
WI Key Players
Stafanie Taylor: Led from the front as she hit 94 and took 2-30 in the opening game of the series – her 35th half-century (alongside five centuries) in ODI cricket. She also now has 142 wickets from 115 WODI innings.
Anisa Mohammed: While she was wicketless against Pakistan and Australia in recent series, she was vital to victory in the opening game of this series when she claimed 5-46, including a wicket with the final ball, to seal West Indies’ thrilling victory.
Hayley Matthews: Back in the team after her undisclosed code of conduct breach, the star all-rounder will have some making up to do. She has 1,020 runs and 42 wickets from her 42 WODI appearances so far.
WI Team Form
West Indies were whitewashed by England and Australia in their two previous series but upset the odds to claim victory in the opening game of this one. Stafanie Taylor hit 94 and took 2-30, but it was Anisa Mohammed who held her nerve as West Indies posted 225/7 and then bowled India out for 224 – Mohammed rounding off a five-wicket haul with a wicket off the final ball.

India made just one change between the two fixtures, with Rajeshwari Gayakwad replacing Ekta Bisht. She bowled well, however, and it could be an unchanged India bowling line-up as a result. Fit-again Smriti Mandhana has joined up with the India squad, but she did not feature in the second game despite recovering from a broken toe.
IND Key Players
Harmanpreet Kaur: More like herself last time out as she hit 46 and then bowled five economical overs in which she conceded just 13 runs. She averages 34.88 with the bat in WODI cricket and has 23 wickets to her name too.
Punam Raut: Her top score of 77 in the second WODI continued her run of good scores in recent series, having also hit a half-century against England in February and one against South Africa last month. She has 13 to her name, plus two hundreds, in WODI cricket.
Poonam Yadav: Her dismissal from the final ball of the first game cost India victory, but she is in the team for her bowling and she has seven wickets in her last four WODI matches, and 70 in 45 in total with her leg-spin.
IND Team Form
India came into this series having whitewashed South Africa in their most recent WODI series last month – though it was not part of the ICC Women’s Championship. The series included their successful chase of 248 to win the same game – their highest in WODIs.
This series started badly, however – needing 226 to win the first game, they were 170/3 when Priya Punia was dismissed for 75 in the 40th over, but they eventually finished 224 all out when Poonam Yadav was caught off the final ball. They hit back last time out, however – Punam Raut’s 77 helping them to 191/6 before they bowled West Indies out for 138 to earn a comfortable, albeit low-scoring, win.
IND Women Predicted Playing 11
Priya Punia, Jemimah Rodrigues, Punam Raut, Mithali Raj (c), Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Taniya Bhatia (wk), Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav
WI Women vs IND Women Head to Head
India’s win in the second WODI not only levelled this series but also got them back to winning ways in this fixture – one in which they have won 19 of their 24 previous meetings with West Indies Women. They had previously last met at the World Cup, when India chased 184 to win by seven wickets at Taunton, before claiming a win apiece so far in this series.
Stafanie Taylor and Anisa Mohammed were West Indies’ heroes in their thrilling one-run win in the first game, while India had Punam Raut to thank with the bat before an excellent team bowling effort in the second.
