Four matches have been played at the SuperSport Park in this year's Momentum One Day Cup out of which three have been won by the side batting second. Since the pitch at this ground has tended to favor the bowlers more during the first period of play, the toss-winning captain in this match will probably opt to bowl first.

The Titans received a big boost in both their batting and bowling departments as they welcomed back their Proteas superstars for their semi-final clash against Cape Cobras. Aiden Markram, Dale Steyn, Junior Dala and Tabraiz Shamsi all returned from international duties to replace Grant Thomson, Marcello Piedt, Tshepo Moreki and Gregory Mahlokwana. The Titans also brought Sizwe Masondo in place of wicket-keeper Rivaldo Moonsamy who had failed to open his account in the last league-stage match against the Knights. The home team's line-up looks pretty much settled and we don't expect them to make any changes for this upcoming final.
Aiden Markram is one of the tournament's leading run-getter with 415 runs. The South Africa international has smashed two centuries and a fifty this season and the Titans will want him to deliver on the big occasion. Tony de Zorzi, Farhaan Behardien and Theunis de Bruyn are also key figures in this batting line-up. Tony de Zorzi clubbed 89 in one of the reverse encounters and he will be expected to play a similar knock on Sunday. Junior Dala has had an excellent tournament this year and is leading the wickets charts with 26 wickets. The pacer is coming on the back of a six-fer in the semi-final against the Cobras and he will pose a serious threat to the Dolphins. Dale Steyn and Corbin Bosch are two others in this bowling unit who can cause problems for the opposition. Steyn has loads of experience under his belt and he is likely to make the early inroads with the new ball.
The Titans had finished as league leaders with six wins and four losses from their ten matches. They secured a comprehensive five-wicket victory over the Cobras in the home semi-final and they now have six wins in their last eight matches. The Titans were simply outstanding with the ball last time as their bowlers tormented the Cobras and knocked them over for just 187.
Tony de Zorzi, Theunis de Bruyn, Jonathan Vandiar, Aiden Markram, Dean Elgar (c), Farhaan Behardien, Corbin Bosch, Sizwe Masondo (wk), Dale Steyn, Junior Dala, Tabraiz Shamsi
Dolphins made a couple of changes to their side in the semi-final match against the Warriors as they dropped Marques Ackerman and Okuhle Cele for Andile Phehlukwayo and Daryn Dupavillon. Dupavillon returned impressive figures and the fast bowler is likely to open the bowling again alongside Eathan Bosch. Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Sarel Erwee will open the batting while it remains to be seen whether the Dolphins continue to persist with Senuran Muthusamy at number three or push him down the order. The visitors are expected to go into this game unchanged.
Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Sarel Erwee have been the most consistent performers with the bat for Dolphins this year and the team will be having huge expectations from this opening pair. Jaarsveld scored a run-a-ball 53 in the semi-final against the Warriors and it will be crucial that he gets the Dolphins off to a good start. Dane Vilas hit a half-century in last month's reverse fixture at this ground and he will look to repeat that on Sunday. Andile Phehlukwayo is another key man in this line-up due to his ability to score vital runs down the order in addition to being one of the team's premier wicket-taking options. Eathan Bosch, Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthusamy have bowled well on occasions and the Dolphins will want them all to be at their best. Muthusamy has been amongst their better bowlers with ten wickets in as many matches. The left-arm spinner snared three scalps in the most recent encounter against the Titans.
The Dolphins finished one place behind the Titans on the points table after winning five and losing four matches in the league stage. After facing three consecutive defeats, they came back strongly to register wins in their next two completed matches which includes the comfortable seven-wicket win over the Warriors in the semi-final. In the last game, the Dolphins skittled out their opponents for just 119 runs inside 35 overs before making short work of their target.
Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Sarel Erwee, Senuran Muthusamy, Dane Vilas (wk), Khaya Zondo (c), Sibonelo Makhanya, Andile Phehlukwayo, Keshav Maharaj, Eathan Bosch, Prenelan Subrayen, Daryn Dupavillon
The Titans have won three of the last five matches they have played against the Dolphins in the Momentum One Day Cup.
Titans and Dolphins have played two matches against each other this season with both the teams winning once each.
The two teams last faced each other just a couple of weeks ago at the Kingsmead in Durban. The Titans scored 300/9 in their 50 overs after being put into bat first. The Dolphins, in reply, could muster only 230 to go down by 70 runs.
Titans and Dolphins have been the two most consistent teams this season and one can expect a hard-fought contest between them on Sunday. Dolphins are the defending champions and they will look to give their all to defend their title. But beating the Titans who have won the tournament five times, and that too at their fortress, will take some doing. Dolphins do have a few quality players in their ranks but they don't have the same kind of firepower in their bowling department that the Titans possess. Dale Steyn, Junior Dala and Tabraiz Shamsi make for a threatening attack and the Dolphins could have a hard time against them. The Titans are not easy to take down at home and we feel they have a great opportunity to bag another title.
Final Verdict: Back Titans to beat Dolphins in the final match of the Momentum One Day Cup 2019.
