Who will win Scotland vs Namibia, T20 WCQ 2019?
Scotland will go top of Group A in the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier if they beat Namibia when the two teams meet at Dubai’s ICC Academy Ground on October 22. The live action gets underway at 10:00.
After losing to Singapore first up, Scotland have bounced back with wins against Kenya and Papua New Guinea. They beat the latter by just four runs after Josh Davey took two wickets and conceded just four runs in the final over.
The Scots are now big favourites to beat Namibia, who have been bowled out for 96 and 116 on their way to defeats to the Netherlands and Papua New Guinea. Jan Frylinck has taken six wickets so far, but the Namibian batting has fallen well short.

Scotland Team News & Playing 11
SCO Team News
Scotland were unchanged against Papua New Guinea, with Mark Watt continuing in place of Alasdair Evans and bowling well too. It could be a third game in a row with that winning XI therefore.
SCO Key Players
George Munsey: Subdued last time out, but the big-hitting opener’s form has generally been good so far – hitting 86 in the warm-up match before 46, 23 and 14 in his three main tournament innings.
Josh Davey: Consistent so far, with 2-26, 2-25 and 2-23 from his three matches. The two wickets he took against Papua New Guinea last time out – his 19th and 20th in international cricket – were vital as he successfully bowled the final over.
Safyaan Sharif: The pace bowler has taken two wickets in each of his last four T20i matches to move to 42 wickets in 37 appearances in the format. In this tournament, he took 2-28 against both Singapore and Kenya, and 2-32 last time out.
SCO Team Form
Scotland have bounced back well since they finished just short of chasing 169 to beat Singapore in the opening game. The Scots could only reach 166/9 as they suffered a shock loss, but they have beaten Kenya and Papua New Guinea since.
Against Kenya, they posted 170/6 and Richie Berrington (3-17), Josh Davey (2-25) and Safyaan Sharif (2-28) all played a key part as they restricted the opposition to 139/8 in reply. Against Papua New Guinea, meanwhile, Kyle Coetzer’s 54 helped them post 146/6. In reply, Papua New Guinea needed nine from the final over, but Josh Davey (2-23) took wickets with the first two balls and conceded just four from it in total.
Scotland Predicted Playing 11
George Munsey, Kyle Coetzer (c), Ollie Hairs, Calum MacLeod, Richie Berrington, Matthew Cross (wk), Tom Sole, Safyaan Sharif, Josh Davey, Mark Watt, Hamza Tahir
Namibia Team News & Playing 11
NAM Team News
Namibia have been unchanged personnel-wise so far, but reordered their batting line-up against Papua New Guinea. After two heavy defeats, however, they may soon be considering more drastic changes.
NAM Key Players
Christi Viljoen: Took 2-37 with the ball last time out and then hit 17 with the bat. Neither were outstanding, but in a game of few Namibian highlights they will hope it is a sign of him getting back to good form.
Jan Frylinck: The all-rounder has taken three wickets in each of his two matches so far, following up his 3-25 against the Netherlands with 3-18 against Papua New Guinea. All three wickets came in an excellent 19th over, which also featured a run-out off the final ball.
Niko Davin: Certainly capable of some big-hitting, living up to his excellent T20i strike rate so far, but the opener needs to start batting deep if he is to have any real impact on this tournament.
NAM Team Form
Namibia have lost both matches they have played so far, by big margins too. Jan Frylinck took three wickets as they restricted the Netherlands to 140/6 in their first game, but they were bowled out for 96 in reply. Then, against Papua New Guinea, Frylinck took three more wickets but the Barras posted 197/7 before running Namibia out for 116.
Namibia Predicted Playing 11
JP Kotze, Niko Davin, Christi Viljoen, Gerhard Erasmus (c), JJ Smit, Zane Green (wk), Craig Williams, Jan Frylinck, Pikky Ya France, Zhivago Groenewald, Bernard Scholtz
Scotland vs Namibia Head to Head
Scotland and Namibia will be playing each other in a full T20i for the first time.
Scotland vs Namibia Betting Odds
Scotland are favourites to beat Namibia at 1.20 to win with Bet365. Namibia, by contrast, have been priced at 4.50 to win – which seems a little short considering their two heavy defeats so far.
Scotland’s bowlers will certainly be relishing getting at the fragile Namibian batting. Josh Davey and Safyaan Sharif have each taken two wickets in each of the three matches so far. Davey is 4.33 to be Scotland’s top bowler, while Sharif is 5.00 – both with Bet365. Hamza Tahir is favourite at 4.00.
Bowling has been the one positive for Namibia, with Jan Frylinck taking six wickets across the two games. He is 4.33 with Bet365 to be their top bowler again.
🏆 Scotland vs Namibia Prediction
Namibia have started this tournament in excellent form but their remains a bridge between themselves and the top teams in the qualifier like Scotland. As of yet, the Barras have not looked like cutting that deficit.
