South Africa Team News & Playing 11

SA Team News

South Africa have rested Imran Tahir in order to give Tabraiz Shamsi bowling time, while they have rotated the rest of their squad players too. Dane Paterson came into the team last time out, as did Heinrich Klaasen, Robbie Frylinck and JP Duminy. Gihahn Cloete and Christiaan Jonker will hope for recalls this time.

SA Key Players

Rassie van der Dussen marked his T20 international debut with 56 from 44 balls in the opening game, and was promoted to open last time out.

JP Duminy was top scorer, however, with 33 from 26 balls to lead a comfortable chase and get back in the runs after a lean one-day series by his standards. In T20 internationals, he averages 37.91 with the bat.

David Miller was unbeaten on 19 not out after scoring 39 in the first game, and the explosive middle-order batsman will be a dangerman if he plays.

With the ball, the wickets have been shared around - Lungi Ngidi, Dane Paterson and Robbie Frylinck all taking two apiece last time out, while Junior Dala and Adile Phehlukwayo took two each in the first game. Whichever combination plays, there are wickets in this South African line-up.

SA Team Form

South Africa lost their last two T20 series, 2-1 at home to India in February and then in a one-off match with Sri Lanka in Colombo.

They have bounced back against Zimbabwe, however, and are now closing in on a first T20 series win since Quinton de Kock and David Miller batted them to victory in their two-match series with Bangladesh this time last year.

Imran Tahir was the star in the first match, claiming a five-wicket haul, while wickets and runs were shared in the comfortable six-wicket win last time out - Dane Paterson claiming the man of the match award for his 2-22.

South Africa Predicted Playing 11

Gihahn Cloete, Quinton de Kock, David Miller, JP Duminy, Rassie van der Dussen, Christiaan Jonker, Robbie Frylinck, Adile Phehlukwayo, Junior Dala, Dane Paterson, Tabraiz Shamsi

Zimbabwe Team News & Playing 11

ZIM Team News

Solomon Mire returned to the team for the second T20 international, replacing Chamu Chibhabha in the only change from the first match. Tendai Chatara has still not featured in the bowling attack therefore, and is an option to bring into the team.

ZIM Key Players

While he failed to click on his return to the team, Solomon Mire was Zimbabwe's star man in the Zimbabwe T20 Tri-Nation Series earlier this year. He hit 94 from 63 balls against Pakistan and 63 from 52 against Australia, top-scoring in three of Zimbabwe's four games in all.

Sean Williams was the mainstay of the batting line-up last time out, however, hitting 41 from 28 balls to lift Zimbabwe to a competitive score. Williams then weighed in with 2-25 from his three overs. Brendan Taylor hit 29 to recapture some form, but he took him 35 balls to do so.

Chris Mpofu has taken three wickets across the two games, continuing the form he showed when playing for the Zimbabwe Select XI in a tri-series in Harare in June.

ZIM Team Form

Zimbabwe have played eight T20 internationals in 2018 and lost them all. They lost 2-0 to Afghanistan in two matches in Sharjah, finished bottom of the table in T20 Tri-Nation Series after losing both matches to both Australia and Pakistan in Harare and now have lost twice to South Africa.

Solomon Mire's big-hitting ensured some positives came from the tri series, but Zimbabwe have otherwise struggled to post competitive totals - their 132 last time out proving well below par.

Zimbabwe Predicted Playing 11

Solomon Mire, Hamilton Masakadza, Tarisai Musakanda, Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams, Peter Moor, Elton Chigumbura, Tendai Chisoro, Brandon Mavuta, Kyle Jarvis, Chris Mpofu

South Africa vs Zimbabwe Head to Head

South Africa have won all five T20 internationals they have played against Zimbabwe, with these the first matches since South Africa's Jacques Kallis-inspired ten-wicket win at the 2012 World Twenty20.

They previously won both matches on Zimbabwe's tour of South Africa in 2010, and their two wins so far here make it five from five in the history of this fixture.

South Africa vs Zimbabwe Betting Odds

South Africa remain huge favourites to beat Zimbabwe, even if they opt to rest more of their star players for the final game in the series. Bet365 are offering 1.10 on a South African win, with Zimbabwe as high as 7.00.

Given they could shuffle their batting line-up, it is hard to pick a batsman to top score for the hosts, but Rassie van der Dussen did hit a half-century on his debut in the first match and is 5.00 to top score again. He opened last time out, and could do so again this time.

Solomon Mire is 5.00 for Zimbabwe, meanwhile. He may have fallen short last time out, but his quality was on full display against Australia and Pakistan earlier in the summer.

🏆 South Africa vs Zimbabwe Prediction

South Africa have dominated the ODI and T20i series against Zimbabwe, and there is nothing to suggest they will not finish with another big win.

Final Verdict: South Africa to beat Zimbabwe at 1.10 with Bet365.
