The last five one-day internationals played at the Mangaung Oval have all been won by the side batting first. Since the wicket is expected to offer more assistance to the bowlers later on in the evening, the toss-winning captain is more likely to bat first.

SA Team News
Christiaan Jonker did not have a great ODI debut as the batsman could score just six runs before being dismissed. But South Africa will probably retain him for the second ODI which means Khaya Zondo will have to wait a little longer for a game. Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar will once again open the batting while JP Duminy is likely to continue batting in the lower-middle order.
SA Key Players
JP Duminy, the most experienced campaigner in the side, continues to be the key man for South Africa. The stand-in skipper has a couple of half-centuries from five ODIs at this ground and his knock will become even more important should the hosts lose early wickets again. Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with a run-a-ball 44 and he will be expected to bat well again. Aiden Markram could not convert his start into something substantial and he will look to score big this time. Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi shared five wickets between them and they will be backed by their team to run through the Zimbabwean batting line-up once again. Ngidi was the pick of the bowlers last time with excellent figures of 3-19 from 8.1 overs. Imran Tahir was impressive as well with 2-23. The leg-spinner is South Africa's leading ODI wicket-taker from the current squad after Dale Steyn and he can cause problems for the visitors again in the middle overs.
SA Recent Form
South Africa have now won four of their last six one-day internationals. They came into this series on the back of a 3-2 win over Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. The Proteas were absolutely spot on with the ball in the last game as they wrapped up the Zimbabwean innings for just 117 inside 35 overs. However, their top-order got rocked early on which is one thing they will keep in mind going into this game.
South Africa Predicted Playing 11
Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Christiaan Jonker, Jean-Paul Duminy (c), Willem Mulder, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir, Lungi Ngidi
Zimbabwe Team News & Playing 11
ZIM Team News
Zimbabwe, despite being outplayed in the opening game, are expected to go in with an unchanged line-up. The team is likely to stick with its current opening combination of Solomon Mire and Hamilton Masakadza with Craig Ervine and Brendan Taylor at numbers three and four respectively. None of the Zimbabwean players were reported to be injured at the time of writing.
ZIM Key Players
Zimbabwe put up a shoddy performance with the bat in the first game and they will need strong contributions from their big guns Hamilton Masakadza, Brendan Taylor and Sean Williams if they are to put any kind of pressure on the South African bowlers in this must-win game. Masakadza was their only top-order batsman to reach double figures and the skipper will be expected to lead from the front here. Taylor is Zimbabwe's third-highest run-getter in ODIs and he along with Williams and Elton Chigumbura will be the team's biggest hopes in the middle order. Tendai Chatara and Wellington Masakadza picked two wickets apiece at Kimberley. The former was the standout performer conceding just 12 runs off his six overs and Zimbabwe will want the pacer to keep up the good work. Wellington too finished with a decent economy rate and he seems to be the team's best spin-option at the moment.
ZIM Recent Form
Zimbabwe's five-wicket loss at Kimberley was their eighth consecutive defeat in one-day internationals. It was a disastrous batting performance from them as only two of their batsmen could manage to cross the 20-run mark. Their bowlers however did give the hosts a scare as they had them reduced to 58-4 at one stage. Prior to that game, Zimbabwe had suffered a 0-5 drubbing at the hands of Pakistan in Bulawayo.
Zimbabwe Predicted Playing 11
Solomon Mire, Hamilton Masakadza (c), Craig Ervine, Brendan Taylor (wk), Sean Williams, Peter Moor, Elton Chigumbura, Wellington Masakadza, Brandon Mavuta, Kyle Jarvis, Tendai Chatara
