South Africa boast one of the most impressive batting line-ups in ODI cricket, with Quinton de Kock the most recent to top score with 83 in their series-winning victory against Pakistan last time out.
Faf du Plessis hit an unbeaten 50, having hit a series-winning century against Australia in their previous decisive fixture too – a match which saw David Miller smash 139.
Rassie van der Dussen has slotted into the middle order after his T20 success, meanwhile. He also hit an unbeaten 50 in South Africa's most-recent ODI.
With the ball, Dale Steyn's experience is key in the pace attack, backed by the all-round ability of Andile Phehlukwayo – who arrives having showed good form in the Momentum One Day Cup. Kagiso Rabada's raw pace is also exciting, while Imran Tahir leads the spin-bowling – the veteran having enjoyed success across the globe.

South Africa are in good form in ODI cricket, most recently beating Pakistan 3-2 in a five-game series thanks to a seven-wicket in the final game. Quinton de Kock top-scored with 83, while Faf du Plessis and Rassie van der Dussen both hit unbeaten 50s as South Africa chased 241 to win with ten overs remaining.
They previously beat Australia, 2-1 after du Plessis (125) and David Miller (139) led them to 320/5 and a 40-run win in the final game.
South Africa have won their last four ODI series in total – a run which started with their win against Sri Lanka last year.

In a bid to arrest their poor ODI form, Sri Lanka have turned to three uncapped players - Oshada Fernando, Kamindu Mendis and Priyamal Perera. The former hit a half-century in the warm-up game and is surely going to feature in the middle order as a result.

Short of form in the ODI game, the recent warm-up match at least provided some positives - Avishka Fernando top-scoring with 72 before Oshada Fernando added 63.
Kusal Perera's astonishing batting helped them to victory in the test series, meanwhile - his match-winning 153 not out sealing victory in the first test. In ODI cricket, he has hit 11 50s and four centuries - the most recent of which was in the series with New Zealand.
With the ball, Lasith Malinga took a five-wicket haul in the warm-up match to cement his recent form. The veteran swing bowler also took seven wickets in the recent three-game series with New Zealand.
SL Team Form
Sri Lanka are in poor ODI form. They lost a rain-affected series with England 3-1, winning only the dead rubber, before being whitewashed in a three-match series with New Zealand.
They have consequently won just one of their last ten ODIs, having also been in poor form in the Asia Cup before that.
Against New Zealand, they were far too expensive with the ball - New Zealand posting 371/7, 319/7 and 364/4 in their three innings. Kusal Perera's century in the first match, as Sri Lanka reached 326, aside, there was little to shout about with the bat. They were all out in all three games, for 326, 298 and 249 respectively.

The most recent series was notable for Reeza Hendricks scoring a century on his debut as South Africa posted 363/7 to win the third ODI by 78 runs, while JP Duminy weighed in with 227 runs across the series at an average of 56.75 and Lungi Ngidi took ten wickets in just four games.
