Who will win Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Stars, WBBL 2019?
After a rain-affected start to the third week of the Women’s Big Bash League, Perth Scorchers return to the WACA Ground to take on winless Melbourne Stars. The match, on November 2, is scheduled to start at 15:55 local time.
The Scorchers’ first game at the WACA this season was against the Renegades, but regular rain interruptions helped them grab an eight-wicket, Meg Lanning-inspired DLS-method win. They are hoping to recapture some form in these ‘home’ games and will hope for better luck with the weather too.
Melbourne Stars, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win of the season. They are the only team yet to taste victory, sitting bottom of the table with four defeats from four across the first two weeks.

PRSW vs MLSW Toss Prediction
Perth Scorchers elected to field first in the opening match of this third week at the WACA, but they may rethink that after the ease with which the Melbourne Renegades compiled runs before the rain came.
PRSW vs MLSW Weather Report
After a rain-disrupted match on Friday, the Scorchers will be pleased to see the forecast is clearer for the rest of the week. There will be some cloud around, and temperatures are only in the high-teens on Saturday, but there is only a very minimal chance of more rain.
PRSW vs MLSW Pitch Condition
A fast, bouncy WACA wicket usually favours quicker bowling, but the quick outfield also means plenty of runs can be scored. The Melbourne Renegades proved the latter in the previous game.

PRSW Team News
Chloe Piparo retained her place last time out as the Scorchers stuck with the balance of the team – their only change so far having been to bring Taneale Peschel in for Emma King. It means Kath Hempenstall is still yet to feature.
PRSW Key Players
Meg Lanning: The Australia captain hit a half-century in the win against Brisbane Heat and led the charge against Melbourne Renegades last time out with a match-winning 44* from 24 balls.
Amy Jones: Scored 44 against Melbourne Renegades and 60* against Brisbane Heat as she, like her England team-mates, has made a fine start to this tournament.
Heather Graham: Last season’s top WBBL wicket-taker was the only Perth Scorchers bowler to pick up a wicket last time out, returning relatively tidy figures of 1-23 from three overs.
PRSW Team Form
The Scorchers went into this third week of fixtures, which includes their first ‘home’ games of the tournament with one win and two defeats from their first three games. That win did come against defending champions Brisbane Heat, however, in which Amy Jones (60*) and Meg Lanning (56) led them to victory.
With rain ruining the game against Melbourne Renegades, Lanning and Jones were eventually left to lead a chase of 73 to win from seven overs – after they conceded 134/1 from 15 overs. Jones hit 23 from 15 balls and Lanning a brilliant 44* from 24 balls as they won with a six off the final ball.

Chloe Rafferty, Madeline Penna and Nicole Faltum have all come into the Stars’ line-up, with Holly Ferling, Annabel Sutherland and Emma Inglis missing out last time out. After a narrow defeat in a much-improved performance, it could be an unchanged team this time, so Katey Martin will continue behind the stumps if so.
MLSW Key Players
Lizelle Lee: The big-hitting South African opener can be hit and miss at the top of the order, but she comes into this game on the back of a half-century against Sydney Thunder in her most recent innings.
Elyse Villani: Another to hit a half-century in the most recent match, the Stars’ captain will be keen to kick on from that as she looks to put a run of low scores behind her and get back into contention for the national team.
Mignon du Preez: Yet to hit a half-century, but the South African does have 93 runs to her name so far, including 44 in the defeat to Sydney Sixers. She was in good form in the Kia Super League earlier this year and will want to showcase that again.
MLSW Team Form
Melbourne Stars have lost four from four so far, suffering back-to-back defeats to Hobart Hurricanes in the first week and then losing to both Sydney teams in the second. Against the Sixers, they posted just 107/9 on their way to an eight-wicket loss.
Against the Thunder, meanwhile, Elyse Villani and Lizelle Lee each hit half-centuries in an improved batting performance, before Madeline Penna claimed 4-20 in reply, but the Thunder got home with two balls to spare to win by four wickets.
