Pakistan have only pride left to play for when they end their T20i series against a second-strong Sri Lanka team at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on October 9. The match is scheduled to start at 18:30 local time.
Sri Lanka are touring without several senior players, including Lasith Malinga, due to security concerns and yet have won both games in this series so far. Batting first in both matches, Nuwan Pradeep (seven wickets) and Isuru Udana (five wickets) have proved their worth with the ball to lead the tourists to their two wins.
Pakistan have a strong squad for this series but have simply fallen well short on both occasions. They should be favourites for this final match of the series, but the two games so far have proved this Sri Lankan side has more strength in depth than anticipated.

Babar Azam: Fell short last time out, in a scratchy ten-ball innings in which he managed just three runs, but his T20i average speaks for itself – 50.52 after ten half-centuries in 32 previous innings.
Shadab Khan: The leg-spinner has taken a wicket in each game so far, having previously been in good form in the Caribbean Premier League. It is easy to see why he is already proving in-demand in T20 cricket despite just turning 21.
Imad Wasim: After being a key part of Notts Outlaws’ run to the finals of the T20 Blast, he issued another reminder of his all-round capabilities with 1-27 and 47 from 29 balls last time out. He was comfortably Pakistan’s top performer in an otherwise disappointing defeat.

Pakistan’s dip in T20i form has continued in this series, with the batting falling well short in both games so far. Mohammad Hasnain took a hat-trick (across two overs) in the first game but it proved the only highlight of an otherwise disappointing home performance – Pakistan bowled out for 101 chasing 166 to win.
Last time out, they fared a little better – bowled out for 147 – but it was again well short of the target of 183 to win in Lahore.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa: One of the beneficiaries of the number of senior players dropping out of this tour. He scored 32 on his T20 international debut in the first game and then led the way last time out with four fours and six sixes on his way to 77 from 48 balls.
Isuru Udana: Took 3-11 in the first game and then 2-38 last time out. He conceded too many boundary balls last time out but nevertheless his five wickets in two matches are a reminder of why he is in-demand in franchise T20 cricket.
Nuwan Pradeep: Led the bowling with a brilliant 4-25 last time out, to follow up the three he took in the first match. He has a good bowling record in top-level T20 cricket, as one of the few senior players on this tour – moving to 46 wickets in 42 matches.
SL Team Form
Sri Lanka have won a T20 international series for the first time in five attempts. Despite lacking the majority of their senior players, they posted 165/5 – led by Danushka Gunathilaka’s 57 from 38 balls – in the first game, before Nuwan Pradeep and Isuru Udana took three wickets each to help bowl Pakistan out for 101.
Then, Bhanuka Rajapaksa hit 77 from 48 balls in just his second T20 international before four more Pradeep wickets helped dismiss the hosts for 147 chasing 183 to win. Sri Lanka’s 35-run win sealed the series victory with a game to spare.
