PAK vs ENG 2nd Test Match Prediction & Betting Tips

Pakistan will take on England at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The second Test of the three game series gets underway at 10:00 local time on Friday 9th December.

Pakistan

Babar Azam’s side included four debutants in the First Test - Saud Shakeel, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Ali and Zahid Mahmood. However, Rauf picked up an injury and is out for the rest of the series and Mahmood conceded the second highest number of runs by a debutant in Test cricket in Rawalpindi so there could well be changes in Multan.

PAK Batting

In spite of losing the First Test, there were three centurions for Pakistan in their first innings. Openers, Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq, both hit centuries before skipper Babar Azam hit a faultless 136. Imam-ul-Haq looked the most comfortable against the English bowlers and he will carry that confidence into this game.

PAK Bowling

We expect to see a very different bowling attack for Pakistan in this Test after the majority were hit to all corners of the ground in Rawalpindi in both innings by England’s batters. Spinner Mohammad Nawaz will certainly come into the team in place of the injured Haris Rauf.

Pakistan have won only one of their last six Tests.

England

The aggressive and positive nature of England’s performance in Rawalpindi, which yielded their third ever away victory over Pakistan, means that Ben Stokes’ side will arrive in Multan full of confidence. All-rounder Liam Livingstone has returned home with an injury and Mark Wood will replace him in the team.

ENG Batting

Both England openers, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, scored centuries in the first innings in the opening Test with Crawley also posting a second innings fifty. Crawley has an excellent record against Pakistan and has scored at least 50 runs in all four of his innings.

ENG Bowling

After getting through plenty of overs on Day 5 in Rawalpindi, Jimmy Anderson, Ollie Robinson and Ben Stokes will be delighted to have Mark Wood adding another pace option to the attack in Multan. Spin bowling all-rounder Will Jacks will be raring to go again after taking six wickets in his debut Test.

ENG Form

England are in excellent form in this format with seven wins from their last eight Tests.

PAK vs ENG, Multan Cricket Stadium Pitch Report

The match will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium. We expect a slightly quicker wicket with more turn and bounce than we saw in Rawalpindi last week.
