Who will win Netherlands vs United Arab Emirates (ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier)?
The Netherlands and United Arab Emirates meet at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium fighting to join Papua New Guinea and Ireland in qualifying for next year’s ICC T20 World Cup. The first semi-final play-off of this ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier takes place on October 29 and the live action will start at 14:10 local tome.
The Dutch won five of their six group games in Group A, with just a defeat to Papua New Guinea costing them top spot. They go into this game in good form, however, having seen off Bermuda and Scotland to end the group stage well.
On the other hand, the hosts have been hit by scandal at this tournament – four players have been suspended on corruption charges, while a fifth player fled the country. Nevertheless, they rallied to finish third in their group – beating Canada in the final group game to seal their semi-final play-off place.

Toss Prediction
The Netherlands had plenty of fortune with the toss in the group stages, winning it five out of six times. If that continues, they elected to field first in their most recent game in Dubai and could do so again.
Weather Report
Temperatures are going to rise as high as 37 degrees Celsius in Dubai on Tuesday. It will be sunny and very hot, but humidity is comparatively low and there is no chance of rain.
Pitch Condition
While it has facilitated some big scores, and is generally seen as a batting wicket, it is worth noting that the last two matches at Dubai produced a couple of low scores too.

Netherlands Team News & Playing 11
NED Team News
Tobias Visee and Brandon Glover returned to the starting XI against Scotland, after Shane Snater and Fred Klaassen started against Bermuda. Visee’s form has not been great in this tournament, but the Dutch have kept faith in him and could stick with the team that won last time out.
NED Key Players
Ryan ten Doeschate: Hit his second half-century in the win against Scotland – an unbeaten 51 to follow the 59 he scored against Namibia. During this tournament, the 39-year-old has gone past 7,000 runs in T20 cricket.
Max O’Dowd: A rare failure last time out but he has scored two half-centuries at the top of the order in this tournament already to move to six in his T20i career. He has been in good form for much of this calendar year.
Paul van Meekeren: The right-arm paceman took 12 wickets through the group stage and now has 44 from 36 T20 innings in total. His economy rate is generally good too.
NED Team Form
The Netherlands lost just one game in the group stage, but that defeat proved costly as Papua New Guinea chased 127 to beat the Dutch and then pipped them to top spot on net run rate.
Nevertheless, the Dutch come into this game in good form having bounced back from that loss by beating Bermuda and Scotland. Max O’Dowd and Ben Cooper hit half-centuries in a total of 206/3 against Bermuda, before Paul van Meekeren’s 3-26 helped restrict their opponents to just 114/9. Then, against Scotland, Ryan ten Doeschate hit an unbeaten 51 from 35 balls as the Dutch chased 131 to win by four wickets with three overs to spare.
Netherlands Predicted Playing 11
Max O’Dowd, Tobias Visee, Ben Cooper, Colin Ackermann, Ryan ten Doeschate, Pieter Seelaar (c), Roelof van der Merwe, Scott Edwards (wk), Brandon Glover, Timm van der Gugten, Paul van Meekeren
UAE Team News & Playing 11
UAE Team News
Already hit by the suspensions of Mohammad Naveed, Shaiman Anwar and Qadeer Ahmed, the UAE lost Ashfaq Ahmed for the same reason, while Ghulam Shabber fled the country and retired from international cricket – citing poor remuneration as the reason. They reverted to what would probably be considered their now full-strength team last time out – Zahoor Khan and Rameez Shahzad returning in place of Imran Haider and Zawar Farid. Farid was a little unlucky, having scored a half-century against Nigeria, but the UAE could be unchanged now for the first play-off.
UAE Key Players
Rohan Mustafa: Took his eight wicket of the tournament in the win against Canada last time out and is now just one wicket short of 50 in T20 cricket. His batting has been hit and miss, but a few good starts point to what he can offer there too.
Muhammad Usman: Finally built on a string of good starts to get back to his best batting form last time out. He hit six fours and two sixes to lead the UAE batting with a brilliant unbeaten 89 from 63 balls.
Waheed Ahmed: Took 3-21 in the win against Canada to finish the group stage with six to his name. It was a return to the sort of form he had showed in the warm-ups, when he took three each against both Scotland and Papua New Guinea.
UAE Team Form
Needing to win their final two games to guarantee their play-off place, after being bowled out for 112 against Jersey, the UAE responded well. They needed just 12.3 overs to score 112 again, in a five-wicket win against Nigeria, and then had Muhammad Usman’s unbeaten 89 to thank as they posted 154/5 against Canada and went on to win by 14 runs to seal third place.
UAE Predicted Playing 11
Rohan Mustafa, Chirag Suri, Rameez Shahzad, Muhammad Usman, Waheed Ahmed, Mohammad Boota (wk), Sultan Ahmed, Darius D’Silva, Junaid Siddique, Ahmed Raza (c), Zahoor Khan
Netherlands vs UAE Head to Head
The Netherlands won their first three T20i matches against the UAE, but their most recent series, in the Netherlands in August, saw the UAE win all four matches against a relatively inexperienced Dutch team. Rohan Mustafa took eight wickets in the series for the UAE but their top batsman was Ashfaq Ahmed, who has since been suspended. Max O’Dowd’s batting was the main positive for the Dutch.
