The Netherlands will take on England in the third of three ODIs. The game will be played at the VRA Ground, Amstelveen starting at 11:00 local time on Wednesday June 22nd.
The Netherlands have lost their last 11 ODIs, a run which stretched back to June last year and has seen defeats to Afghanistan, New Zealand, West Indies and England. In this series, they have been well beaten on both occasions so far although Sunday’s defeat by 6 wickets was more of a contest than Friday’s when England won by 232 runs. Captain Scott Edwards top scored for the home side on Sunday, he hit 78 runs from 73 balls in an innings which included four fours and three sixes. Off-spinner Aryan Dutt took 2-55 and bowled a maiden.
England made one change from Friday’s to Sunday’s game with Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran left out in favour of Durham’s Brydon Carse. The away side lost the toss, were asked to field first and made regular breakthroughs to restrict the Netherlands to 235-7 from 41 overs. In reply, openers Jason Roy and Phil Salt put on 139 inside 17 overs before low scores from captain Eoin Morgan and Liam Livingstone. Dawid Malan and Moeen Ali got England home with 29 balls remaining.
