Who will win India vs South Africa, 4th WT20?
India and South Africa will try again to get their WT20i series back underway after two washouts. The fourth scheduled game of the series, which will actually be their second if it goes ahead, takes place at Surat’s Lalabhai Contractor Stadium on October 1. It is scheduled to start at 19:00 local time.
India go into the match as favourites, having won the only game possible in this series so far. They posted 130/8 in that first game, but Deepti Sharma’s excellent bowling helped them defend it – thus ending a seven-game losing streak in this format.
South Africa did have positives to take away, however. Shabnim Ismail carried her good form from the warm-up game into the main series, while Mignon du Preez scored a half-century and nearly led the Proteas to victory. This game has now become must-win in terms of the series for South Africa.

INDW vs SAW Toss Prediction
The only toss completed in this series so far saw South Africa win and elect to field first. India could do the same this time if Harmanpreet Kaur is successful.
INDW vs SAW Weather Report
The weather forecast is sadly very similar to what it has been already in this series – the forecast for rain is at more than 50 per cent and scattered thunderstorms are expected in Surat throughout Tuesday.
INDW vs SAW Pitch Condition
Surat offered up a grippy wicket but the wet conditions will have slowed it down, no matter how much the groundstaff will have protected the pitch.

INDW Team News
India must now decide whether to stick or twist as they balance this series against giving players opportunities to stake their claim for first-team selection. Pooja Vastrakar’s place looks in the most danger, particularly with Anuja Patil seeking a recall.
INDW Key Players
Harmanpreet Kaur: A tidy innings with the bat was followed by a wicket and useful bowling figures for the India captain. She is a key figure in the upper middle order, and was previously in good form at the Kia Super League too.
Smriti Mandhana: India’s vice-captain and another key batsmen, the 23-year-old is one short of a tenth WT20i half-century and her useful start last time out showed she is in good batting touch too.
Deepti Sharma: The all-rounder is in the form of her life on recent evidence. With the bat, that meant her match-winning knock in the Kia Super League final with Western Storm. With the ball, her 18 consecutive dot balls and final figures of 3-8 were central to India’s win in the first game of this series.
INDW Team Form
India will have been particularly frustrated by this weather given they had a real opportunity to kick on. The first game of the series saw them end a seven-game losing streak in this format so they had a chance to really build a platform in this series. Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored with the bat in that first game but there was no doubting the star of the show – Deepti Sharma bowling India to an 11-run win.

SAW Team News
Like India, South Africa must now decide with limited opportunities left in this series to blood new talent, whether to stick or twist. One newcomer who has already featured is Nonkululeko Mlaba, who will be desperate for another chance with the ball.
SAW Key Players
Mignon du Preez: Having been in good form at the Kia Super League with Loughborough Lightning, Du Preez continued that in the first game of this series as she hit a half-century and nearly led the Proteas to a superb comeback win.
Lizelle Lee: Entered the series in top form in T20 cricket and looked to be continuing that as she took charge from the first over. Her dismissal for 16 turned the tide India’s way and if she kicks on, it could be a different story this time.
Shabnim Ismail: In good bowling form, taking six wickets on this tour so far. Her three wickets at Surat in the warm-up game were followed by three more in the first match of the series.
SAW Team Form
South Africa are looking to come from behind to win a series for the second consecutive time. They won the last two match of their series to beat Pakistan previously and now need to do the same again.
There were positive signs in the first match too. They held India to 130/8 and Mignon du Preez could have led them to victory on another day. The biggest difference was Deepti Sharma’s three consecutive maidens, that just left too much to do at the end.
SA Women Predicted Playing 11
Lizelle Lee (wk), Tazmin Brits, Laura Wolfvaardt, Nadine de Klerk, Mignon du Preez, Sune Luus (c), Shabnim Ismail, Nondumiso Shangase, Ayabonga Khaka, Tumi Sekhukhune, Nonkululeko Mlaba
IND Women vs SA Women Head to Head
India won the series the last time these two met as well – claiming a 3-1 win on that occasion, with one game curtailed by the rain. At least on that occasion they got onto the pitch, however – in Surat, that has only happened once as India won the first game by 11 runs.
Deepti Sharma was the star of the show, ensuring Mignon du Preez’s half-century counted for nothing. The Indian’s spinner had figures of 3-3-0-3 from her first three overs, and South Africa eventually folded for 119 chasing 31 to win.

IND Women vs SA Women Betting Odds
The odds have not changed much with no play having been possible since India’s opening win. The hosts remain comfortable favourites.
INDW Bet365 Odds
- INDW to Win the Match: India Women are 1.33 favourites to beat South Africa Women with Bet365.
- INDW Top Batsman: Smriti Mandhana is 3.40 to be India’s top batsman with Bet365. She is one part of the triumvirate of hugely talented batsmen in this team. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur is another – having top-scored last time out – and she is 4.33 with Bet365. The third is big-hitting Jemimah Rodrigues, who can be backed at 4.50.
- INDW Top Bowler: After her heroics in the first game, it is surprising to see Deepti Sharma can still be backed at 4.00 to be India’s top bowler with Bet365. Poonam Yadav is listed as favourite, at 3.25 with Bet365, while Radha Yadav is 4.00. Both did also bowl well in the previous game, in all fairness, but were rightly overshadowed by Sharma’s heroics.
SAW Bet365 Odds
- SAW to Win the Match: South Africa Women are now 3.40 outsiders with Bet365 to beat India Women in the fourth game of this series.
- SAW Top Batsman: Lizelle Lee is favourite to be South Africa’s top batsman with Bet365 and her form leading into this series justifies that. She is 3.75 with Bet365. Mignon du Preez was the top batsman last time out, after her half-century, and she can be backed at 4.50 to do that again. Laura Wolfvaardt is the same price, while Lara Goodall and Tamzin Brits are both 5.50.
- SAW Top Bowler: In-form Shabnim Ismail has been South Africa’s top bowler in both matches on this tour – the warm-up and the first game of this series. She is 3.00 favourite with Bet365 to be their top team bowler in the fourth game as a result. Ayabonga Khaka is the next favourite at 5.00, having kept things tight last time out.
🏆 IND Women vs SA Women Prediction
India can now seal series victory in this game, weather permitting, and they are favourites to be the Proteas in Surat.
