Who will win Hong Kong vs United Arab Emirates, T20 WCQ 2019?
Hosts United Arab Emirates welcome winless Hong Kong to the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in their latest match in Group B of the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi. The match will take place on October 21, with the live action scheduled to start at 14:10 local time.
Hong Kong have lost both matches they have played so far. Without established stars such as Babar Hayat and Anshuman Rath, their inexperienced line-up could not defend 153/5 against Ireland and were then bowled out for 102 by Oman.
The UAE also lost to Oman, having been restricted to just 108/9 from their 20 overs. Rohan Mustafa led the comeback, however – he took 4-18 against Ireland as the UAE were set 126 to win, and he then hit 39 from 16 balls as the hosts won by five wickets with three overs to spare. Buoyed by that win, they have a big chance to gather some momentum in their next few games now.

Hong Kong Team News & Playing 11
HK Team News
Hong Kong have been unchanged for both matches so far, with Simandeep Singh having been handed his T20i debut at the start of the tournament.
HK Key Players
Kinchit Shah: Scored 79 from 54 balls in the opening game against Ireland and is a key figure in the Hong Kong top order, while he also claimed 1-18 with the ball last time out.
Kyle Christie: Wicketless last time out, but the paceman’s three overs went for just eight runs to continue his good bowling form. In Oman, he was Hong Kong’s leading wicket taker with five in four matches.
Haroon Arshad: A more subdued start to this tournament than he had in Muscat, but his form in the Oman Pentangular Series showed what he is capable of as a big-hitting middle-order batsman.
HK Team Form
Kinchit Shah hammered 79 from 54 balls in the opening game against Ireland, as Hong Kong set 153/5 from their 20 overs. It has mostly been downhill since, however. Ireland needed just 17.2 overs to chase it down, sealing an eight-wicket win, before Hong Kong were bowled out for 102 in their second game, against Oman. Oman went on to win by seven wickets in 17.3 overs.
Hong Kong Predicted Playing 11
Nizakat Khan, Aizaz Khan (c), Kinchit Shah, Waqas Barqat, Haroon Arshad, Simandeep Singh, Scott McKechnie (wk), Shahid Wasif, Ehsan Khan, Kyle Christie, Nasrulla Rana
UAE Team News & Playing 11
UAE Team News
After a crushing defeat in their first game of this tournament, the UAE did not waste time before overhauling their team. Darius D’Silva and Mohammad Boota came in – with Boota taking the gloves – and Rohan Mustafa was promoted to open. Chirag Suri and Ghulam Shabber were the two to make way.
UAE Key Players
Rohan Mustafa: It is hard to pick anybody else to top this list after his all-round heroics against Ireland. Already one of the UAE’s leading players, he proved his worth by taking 4-18 before smashing 39 from 16 balls.
Muhammad Usman: A solid middle-order option, he has hit 27 and 29 in the two matches so far, to follow up his 60* in the final warm-up game. He started the recent series against the Netherlands in good form too.
Zahoor Khan: A little wayward on his way to 1-25 last time out, but that was his 43rd international wicket across the two white ball formats, from just 28 matches. He has less wickets in T20i cricket, but his average is lower too.
UAE Team Form
The UAE lost their opening game to Oman, seemingly still suffering a hangover from the news that Mohammad Naveed and Shaiman Anwar had been suspended on corruption charges, amidst allegations they planned to fix matches at this tournament. They posted just 108/9 with the bat in that game but were much improved last time out – they bowled Ireland out for 125 on their way to a five-wicket win. Rohan Mustafa took 4-18 and then scored 39 from 16 balls.
UAE Predicted Playing 11
Ashfaq Ahmed, Rohan Mustafa, Darius D’Silva, Muhammad Usman, Rameez Shahzad, Waheed Ahmed, Mohammad Boota (wk), Ahmed Raza (c), Sultan Ahmed, Junaid Siddique, Zahoor Khan
Hong Kong vs UAE Head to Head
This will be the first match between Hong Kong and the UAE in T20 international cricket since their first meeting at the Asia Cup in 2016. On that occasion, the now suspended Mohammad Naveed took 3-14 as Hong Kong posted 146/7, before Mohammad Shahzad (52) and Muhammad Usman (41) helped the UAE to a six-wicket win.
