Who will win Hong Kong vs Oman, T20 WCQ 2019?
Hong Kong and Oman go head-to-head for the final ICC T20 World Cup place when they meet in the final Qualifier play-off at the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier in Dubai. The match, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, takes place on October 30 and starts at 19:30 local time.
Hong Kong’s World Cup hopes looked to be over when, hit by a number of key players withdrawing from the national team, they lost their first three games at this tournament – including their second heavy defeat to Oman of the month. Three wins in a row, against Jersey, Canada and Nigeria, have kept their chances alive – but they are still outsiders for this game.
Oman have already missed two chances to seal their World Cup place. Victory in their final group game, against Jersey, would have put them through, as would beating Namibia in the semi-final play-off. Two defeats, however, means this is their final opportunity to ensure a month of otherwise excellent form does not go to waste.

Oman were asked to field first last time out, but Dubai is very much a bat-first wicket so – despite their success chasing against Hong Kong in the last two games – they bat first in this one.

Hong Kong Team News & Playing 11
HK Team News
Nasrulla Rana came into the team for the final two group games, while Mohammad Ghazanfar bowled brilliantly when he came into the team against Nigeria. Oman are, of course, a very different test but Hong Kong could stick with a winning team.
HK Key Players
Kinchit Shah: Hammered 25 from ten balls as Hong Kong looked to wrap up victory as quickly as possible against Nigeria. He also has two half-centuries to his name, against Canada and Ireland and two wickets against Jersey.
Kyle Christie: Continued his wicket-taking form with his tenth T20i wicket in his tenth T20i appearance last time out.
Nizakat Khan: Like Shah, he hit out briefly and well against Nigeria – scoring 21 from nine balls. Wickets lost were not the issue, as Hong Kong simply needed to boost their net run rate as much as possible. He has made good several good starts at the top of the order now.
HK Team Form
Hong Kong came back from the dead to qualify for these play-offs, starting with a win against Jersey – Nizakat Khan top-scoring with 48 in a total of 144/7 as they won by eight runs.
Against Canada, Kinchit Shah led the batting with 59* before Nasrualla Rana’s 3-25 was the pick of the bowling figures – Canada reaching just 118/9 in pursuit of 151 to win.
It left Hong Kong needing a big win against Nigeria to keep their slim play-off hopes alive, but they achieved exactly that – after restricting Nigeria to 81/8, they wrapped up victory in 43 balls and stole fourth place in the group.
Hong Kong Predicted Playing 11
Nizakat Khan, Aizaz Khan (c), Kinchit Shah, Waqas Barqat, Haroon Arshad, Simandeep Singh, Scott McKechnie (wk), Mohammad Ghazanfar, Ehsan Khan, Kyle Christie, Nasrulla Rana
Oman Team News & Playing 11
OMAN Team News
As expected, Oman reverted their first-choice team last time out – Fayyaz Butt returning in place of Kaleemullah – but they slipped to a second consecutive defeat. This team has earned plenty of success this month, however, and Oman may well keep faith with them.
OMAN Key Players
Khawar Ali: Scored 41 opening the batting, from 25 balls, having hit a half-century during the group stage too. He also has nine wickets to his name so far with his leg-spin bowling.
Bilal Khan: Excellent with the ball last time out, claiming 4-19 against Namibia to move to 12 wickets in the tournament so far.
Zeeshan Maqsood: Finished the group stage with his highest T20i score – his second half-century in the format – while he also took four wickets in the final two group games. He did not bowl last time out, but his all-round form is there for all to see.
OMAN Team Form
Oman have twice missed the chance to seal their World Cup place already. First, they needed 142 to beat Jersey in their final group game after Mohammad Nadeem’s 4-23, but Zeeshan Maqaood’s half-century could not prevent a 14-run defeat.
Then, against Namibia, Bilal Khan took 4-19 but Namibia recovered to post 161/7 and Oman collapsed from 58/1 to 107 all out.
Oman Predicted Playing 11
Jatinder Singh, Khawar Ali, Aqib Ilyas, Zeeshan Maqsood (c), Aamir Kaleem, Suraj Kumar (wk), Khurram Nawaz, Sandeep Goud, Mohammad Nadeem, Fayyaz Butt, Bilal Khan
