ENG vs PAK Betting Tips

  • England and Pakistan will be hoping for more breaks in the weather as their series concludes in Southampton, with the hosts currently 1-0 up.
  • With only 130 overs available in the whole of the second test, there was little doubt England would hold the advantage they gained from their comeback win in the first test.
  • Stuart Broad's stunning bowling form last time out continued, while James Anderson got back to his best and Zak Crawley proved he can replace unavailable Ben Stokes with the bat when he hit a half-century.

England are favourites to win

England vs Pakistan 3rd Test

England’s final test of a very unusual, shortened summer sees them take on Pakistan for the third time. After a virtually washed-out second test, England carry a 1-0 lead into the third test at Southampton’s Ageas Bowl. The third test takes place from August 21 to August 25 and the live action gets underway at 11:00 each day.

England overturned a 107-run deficit at the halfway point in the first test to claim a stunning three-wicket win. Chris Woakes and Jos Buttler batted England to victory. Stuart Broad was again in excellent bowling form, meanwhile, and that continued as he took 4-56 last time out. James Anderson also returned to form with three wickets. England were 110/4 in reply to Pakistan’s 236 when the second test was curtailed.

For Pakistan, Shan Masood hit 156 in the first test but they lost despite their big lead at the halfway point and Yasir Shah taking eight wickets across the test. Mohammad Rizwan prevented a batting collapse last time out, and their pace attack caught the eye in favourable conditions, but Pakistan need consistency and more luck with the weather if they are to win this third and final test.

Toss Prediction

Pakistan have won the toss and elected to bat first in both matches so far. England may be just as happy bowling first if bowling suits.

Weather Report

While the forecast is much better, conditions at the start and end of this test could still mean disruptions.

Pitch Condition

The Ageas Bowl wicket was a bit jumpy last time out, despite the fact it usually favours batting.

England Team News & Playing 11

ENG Team News

With Ben Stokes returning home for personal reasons, Zak Crawley returned to the batting line-up last time out and hit a half-century to prove his worth. Sam Curran replaced Jofra Archer, and the big question now revolves around the England bowling line-up – Stuart Broad and James Anderson both bowled brilliantly last time out so it could be an unchanged attack.

ENG Key Players

  • Stuart Broad: After some stunning bowling form in the last two tests against West Indies, he has ten wickets in this series following his 4-56 last time out.
  • James Anderson: Had a point to prove last time out and proved it, taking 3-60 to move to 593 test wickets in his career.
  • Chris Woakes: Key to England’s victory in the first test, he took four wickets in that test and then led the hosts to victory with his batting.

ENG Team Form

England came from behind to beat West Indies in their first test series of the summer and are now looking to wrap up a second series win. Chris Woakes was man of the match as he led England to a three-wicket win in the first test, while rain ravaged the second test. Stuart Broad took another four wickets in the brief time of play that was allowed.

England Predicted Playing 11

Rory Burns, Dom Sibley, Joe Root (c), Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Jos Buttler (wk), Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, Dom Bess, Stuart Broad, James Anderson

ENG vs PAK Dream11 Team Prediction, Captain, Vice Captain

  • Wicket-keeper

Mohammad Rizwan was in good batting form in the second test, whereas Jos Buttler starred with his batting in the second innings of the first test. Rizwan is 8.5 credits, while Buttler is nine credits. Either is affordable.

  • Batsmen

Shan Masood’s starring role in the first test, which at the time was his second consecutive century shows his value at 8.5 credits. Babar Azam remains the tourists’ star batsman, however and he is ten credits – as is England captain Joe Root. Ollie Pope is nine credits and Zak Crawley is eight credits – both batsman have showed flashes of their best form and could be top value.

  • All-rounders

In Ben Stokes’ absence, Chris Woakes is the top all-round choice. He has 215 points so far and costs just nine credits to prove his worth.

  • Bowlers

Stuart Broad is 9.5 credits and he is the star man for England at the moment – moving to ten wickets in this series to pick up where he left off against the West Indies too. James Anderson was back to his best last time out, meanwhile, as for a brief time was Mohammad Abbas too. Yasir Shah is nine credits too and he has nine wickets in this series. That quartet includes all four of the top-priced bowlers with good reason.

  • Captain/Vice-captain

Stuart Broad took another four wickets last time out and the England bowler’s fine wicket-taking form makes him an excellent option. Chris Woakes showed match-winning batting and bowling form in the first test, meanwhile, and he is therefore a good choice for vice-captain.

ENG vs PAK Dream11 Team Prediction

  • Batsmen:Joe Root, Ollie Pope, Babar Azam, Shan Masood, Zak Crawley

  • All Rounder:Chris Woakes (vc)

  • Wicket Keeper:Mohammad Rizwan

  • Bowler:Stuart Broad (c), James Anderson, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Abbas

Pakistan Team News & Playing 11

PAK Team News

After such a long wait between tests, Fawad Alam was out for a four-ball duck last time out and he may find himself frustrated this time as Shadab Khan pushes for a recall.

PAK Key Players

  • Babar Azam: Scored another 47 last time out to continue his excellent test batting form, and the vice-captain remains integral to this batting line-up.
  • Mohammad Abbas: Took two wickets last time out in the brief bit of play allowed and was especially good with the new ball.
  • Yasir Shah: The leg-spinner took eight wickets in the first test – four in each innings – and also claimed another from his 11 overs last time out.

PAK Team Form

Pakistan thrashed Bangladesh in their previous test before this series, but then lost to England in the opening game as they blew a big first-innings lead. There were a few positives last time out, Abid Ali and Mohammad Rizwan hitting half-centuries and Mohammad Abbas bowling well, but the weather meant there was never going to be enough time for a result.

Pakistan Predicted Playing 11

Shan Masood, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali (c), Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Shadab Khan, Yasir Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah
