Brisbane Heat are favorites to win

BRH vs ADS Prediction & Betting Tips, BBL 2020-21

Fourth-placed Brisbane Heat take on fifth-placed Adelaide Strikers as the Big Bash League 2020-21 play-offs kick-off with the Eliminator. The match takes place at The Gabba, Brisbane, on January 29 and the live action starts at 19:15 local time.

Brisbane won their last two games, including beating previously in-form Perth Scorchers, as Chris Lynn hit back-to-back half-centuries to lift the Heat to fourth place. It was the perfect response to twice being bowled out for 115 in their previous two matches, including in their 82-run loss to Adelaide Strikers.

Alex Carey smashed a century for Adelaide in that match, who then went on to beat Sydney Thunder too, but their momentum was halted and they dropped to fifth place when they lost to Sydney Thunder in a rain-shortened final league phase game. Jake Weatherald did smash 80* from 47 balls, however.

Brisbane Heat Team News & Playing 11

BRH Team News

Brisbane Heat were initially unchanged last time out as they made it two wins from two, with the main question now whether to bowl X-Factor Sub Jack Wildermuth or the man he replaced, Xavier Bartlett. Both could feature in the match-day squad.

BRH Key Players

  • Marnus Labuschagne: Back in the Heat line-up, he has scored 49 and 46 in his last two innings and claimed 3-35 with the ball last time out too.
  • Mark Steketee: A rare poor performance last time out, but it does not mask the fact he has taken 22 wickets so far in this group stage.
  • Chris Lynn: The big-hitting batsman made it five half-centuries in the tournament so far, including two in the last two matches, to go past 400 runs for the season.

BRH Team Form

After two bad defeats, in which they were bowled out for 115 in each, Chris Lynn’s two half-centuries and Marnus Labuschagne’s 49 and 46 have inspired some vastly improved performances. They hit 173/5 in a 26-run win against Melbourne Renegades and 181/7 in the six-run victory against Perth Scorchers most recently.

Brisbane Heat Predicted Playing 11

Chris Lynn (c), Max Bryant, Marnus Labuschagne, Joe Denly, Joe Burns, Lewis Gregory, Jimmy Peirson (wk), Mark Steketee, Xavier Bartlett, Mitchell Swepson, Ben Laughlin

BRH vs ADS Dream11 Team Prediction, Captain, Vice Captain

  • Wicket Keeper

Alex Carey is 9.5 credits and, even without his century when these teams last met, would have been a must pick at the top of the order. He is still well worth selecting at that price.

  • Batsmen

Chris Lynn seems to be back to his best and Jake Weatherald proved he is likewise last time out. They mat be expensive bit there is a good reason for that. To balance those costs, Lynn’s big-hitting opening partner Max Bryant is a good option at 8.5 credits.

  • All rounder

With the Australian internationals available, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to the all-rounders. Travis Head, Michael Neser and most significantly Marnus Labuschagne are all available. The latter has already racked up 314 points thanks to his runs and wickets in the last three matches. Jack Wildermuth was the Heat’s sub last time out, but his form has been good and his 8.5-credit price means he is worth a gamble.

  • Bowlers

The bowling choices are fairly straightforward if you keep 27 credits in reserve. Wes Agar, Peter Siddle and Mark Steketee have all been in wicket-taking form and all three are worth selecting.

  • Captain /Vice Captain

Marnus Labuschagne has scored runs and taken wickets in each of his three matches so far. He is an obvious choice for captain in that sort of form. Alex Carey is a good batsman, but Chris Lynn has found some consistent form too and he could be a useful vice-captain option.

HEA vs STR Dream11 Team Prediction

  • Batsmen:Chris Lynn (vc), Max Bryant, Jake Weatherald

  • All Rounder:Marnus Labuschagne (c), Travis Head, Michael Neser, Jack Wildermuth

  • Wicket Keeper:Alex Carey

  • Bowler:Peter Siddle, Wes Agar, Mark Steketee

Adelaide Strikers Team News & Playing 11

ADS Team News

Despite defeat last time out, Adelaide could stick with the same side – including the available Aussie international duo of Travis Head and Michael Neser – that lost to Sydney Thunder in the rain last time out.

ADS Key Players

  • Alex Carey: Smashed a century when these teams last met in BBL, and the wicket-keeper-batsman entered exalted BBL company when he did so – not many have hit multiple centuries in this tournament.
  • Peter Siddle: Took an excellent 3-13 when he last faced the Heat batsmen, and he has eight wickets in the last five games in total.
  • Jake Weatherald: Issued a timely reminder of his own batting pedigree last time out, smashing 80* from 47 balls in the rain-shortened game against Sydney Thunder.

ADS Team Form

Adelaide Strikers thrashed Brisbane Heat – Alex Carey scoring a century before the bowled the Heat out for 115 – and then saw off Sydney Thunder with Michael Neser and Peter Siddle in top bowling form. They could not maintain their momentum, however, in a rain-shortened loss last time out. Jake Weatherald smashed 80* from 47 balls in a total of 115/4 from 14 overs but the Thunder only needed 12.1 overs to win by nine wickets.

Adelaide Strikers Predicted Playing 11

Alex Carey (wk), Jake Weatherald, Phil Salt, Travis Head, Jonathan Wells, Ryan Gibson, Michael Neser, Daniel Worrall, Wes Agar, Liam O’Connor, Peter Siddle
