  Yasir Khan opened the batting for Nicosia last time out and scored well, so he looks good value at 8.5 credits. Aritra Chakraborty is on the expensive side at 9.5 credits but there are plenty of options to save credits elsewhere, so the Amdocs’ top-order batsman is worth backing too.

• Batsmen

  With neither Roman Mazumder nor Chaitas Shah playing on the first day, despite being key batsmen pre-tournament, there are few options of note. Swaroop Pattanaik’s good batting in the first game, and the fact he opens, makes him a good-looking pick, while Shabbi Ul Hassan bowled well for Nicosia and bats at five. Wicket-keeper Aizaz Jameel is listed as a batsman – and the fact he keeps might be the deciding factor in making him the third pick, given the lack of form elsewhere.

• All-rounder(s)

  Rashidul Hassan is 8.5 credits and opened the batting for Nicosia last time out. He is good value as a result. Ashish Srivastava is even cheaper at eight credits, but he showed some good all-round form last time out too. Vimal Khanduri is nine credits, but with few players showing form in the first games, he might be a better choice than Hitesh Thadani.

• Bowlers

  Again, it is the lower-end of the price scale where you can find the better-performing players so far. One of those is Nicosia captain Faysal Mia, while Faruk Ahmed put in a top all-round performance for the Tigers last time out too. Both are only eight credits, as is Gaurav Sabwan, who has showed his best all-round form so far too.

• Captain/vice-captain

  Shabbi Ul Hassan and Faruk Ahmed are not listed as all-rounders, but they are – Ul Hassan picking up two wickets last time out and Ahmed batting well and scoring quickly to complement his wickets. On form alone, the latter would be a good captain and the former a vice-captain.
