The WPL 2023 is scheduled to begin on 4th March and the final will take place on 26th March. Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai will host all the 22 matches.
We have analysed all the five squads and the recent form of all the players. With our evaluation, we are backing Royal Challengers Bangalore Women to lift the first ever WPL trophy.
The RCB Women squad has some of the best combinations with some match-winner T20 players. Smriti Mandhana has been a key batter for the Indian team for a long time and she bagged the most expensive bid of INR 3.40 crore from RCB.
Mandhana and New Zealand all-rounder Sophie Devine will strengthen the batting line-up of RCB, along with Richa Ghosh, Ellyse Perry, Heather Knight and Dane van Niekerk.
In the bowling department, we got a brilliant combination of fast-medium pacers Renuka Thakur and Megan Schutt. Schutt has an experience of 92 matches in which she picked 117 wickets while Renuka has taken 25 wickets in 29 matches.
RCB is still struggling to win the first ever title in IPL but it looks like they can win the first ever WPL title in this season.
The first ever Women’s Premier League will feature 5 franchise teams based out of 5 different cities of India. Three out of five teams have the same name from famous IPL franchises.
