As the ICC T20 World Cup is around the corner, all the participating teams are trying to brace themselves up for the mega cricket event which will take place after a long break of five years.
The T20I teams of Ireland, Namibia, Papua New Guinea and Scotland are scheduled to play a 7-match T20I series just before the commencement of the T20 World Cup. The United Arab Emirates T20I team will also be a part of this series but they couldn’t qualify for the T20 World Cup this year.
This T20 series will be played in UAE where the T20 World Cup is set to take place in October. The Summer T20 Bash will start on 5th October, 2021 and the final match will take place on 10th October, 2021. The Emirates Cricket Board is organizing the tournament. The series will be used as a practice tournament for the T20 World Cup.

Papua New Guinea will be a part of the T20 World Cup 2021 and this is the first time Papua New Guinea has qualified for any international tournament. In the 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier Cup, Papua New Guinea was the runner-up team.
