Yorkshire Vikings will take on Birmingham Bears in the 2022 Vitality Blast. The game will be played at Headinley, Leeds starting at 18:30 local time on Friday July 1st.
Yorkshire Vikings are in fourth place in the North Group but only one point behind the three teams above them. So far this season, they have won seven, lost four and tied one game. The Vikings had a big victory over Northamptonshire Steelbacks in Northampton last Friday. Going into the match, the Steelbacks were one point ahead of the Vikings but Yorkshire emerged with a 62 run win. England hopeful, Harry Brook, hit 67 runs from 31 balls and was well supported by David Willey, Jordan Thompson and Matthew Waite lower in the order. With the ball, Waite took 3-18 with Willey, Shadab Khan and Dom Bess all chipping in with two wickets each.
Birmingham Bears are the current table toppers in the North Group. They have 16 points from 12 games but their participation in the knockout stage is not yet confirmed as they are only two points above Northamptonshire Steelbacks in fifth place. The Bears have won three of their last four games in the Blast and were utterly dominant after a sloppy start against Worcestershire Rapids last week. Adam Hose, who has been in fantastic form, hit 110 not out from 53 balls before spinner Danny Briggs took 4-25 as the Rapids were dismissed for 84. Ollie Stone and Jake Lintott both took two wickets for the Bears at Edgbaston.
