World Giants will take on Asia Lions at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium. The Final of the 2023 Legends League Masters begins at 17:30 local time on Monday 20th March.

Although they finished top of the group stage, World Giants will not want to get too ahead of themselves as they were only two points above Asia Lions. However, they did beat Asia them by 20 runs on Thursday and will fancy their chances of inflicting another defeat on them in this match.

Two South Africans were the batting heroes for World Giants on Thursday with both Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis hitting half-centuries. Amla’s 68 runs from 59 balls earned him the Player of the Match Award but the Giants have a wealth of talent in the side with Chris Gayle and Shane Watson also in the top four.

With the ball, there were three wickets for both Tino Best and Chris Mpofu in the win over World Giants. However, there is plenty of other firepower in the team with Brett Lee providing pace and accuracy alongside the left-arm spin of Monty Panesar.

World Giants closed out the group stage with successive wins and will be full of confidence ahead of this match.

Asia Lions

After winning their first two games in the group, many pundits were predicting total domination from Asia Lions in the tournament but they then went on to lose their final two group stage matches. After getting back to winning ways in Saturday’s Eliminator, it will be interesting to see how they line-up in this final.

ASL Team Batting

Opener Upul Tharanga hit 50 runs from 31 balls in the Eliminator against India Maharajas and took the Player of the Match Award. It was the second time in the last three games that the keeper-batter has top scored for Asia Lions and he will be a key wicket in this final.

ASL Team Bowling

It was a fantastic team bowling performance from Asia Lions on Saturday as they made easy work of defending their total of 191-5. Thisara Perera was the only player to not take a wicket with Sohail Tanvir, Abdur Razzak and Mohammad Hafeez all dismissing two batters each.

ASL Team Form

Asia Lions were very good on Saturday and will want to carry that form into this final.

WOG vs ASL Match Pitch Report

This match will be played at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Doha. Although there was some big hitting in the Eliminator we do not expect to see any team total of over 160 in this final.
