Windward Islands will take on Jamaica in the 9th match of the West Indies Super50 Cup. The match will be played at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua, Coolidge and is set to get underway at 1:30 PM local time.

Windward Island started their tournament with an impressive win over Leeward Island. Sunil Ambris and Kevin Stoute smashed scintillating half-centuries as Windward posted a solid total of 284 in 49.3 overs. The total proved too much for the Leeward Island as they were bowled out for 253, losing the match by 31 runs. They did win the match but their batting wasn’t that good. In a 50 over game, you need all your batsmen to contribute. 

They would have expected a better performance from their batsmen in their next game but apart from Sunil Ambris, none of the batsmen was able to stand against a quality Trinidad&Tobago bowling as they were bowled out for 227 which was never going to be sufficient. Windward Island lost the match by 4 wickets.

Talking about Jamaica, they were awful in their campaign opener against Guyana but showed considerable improvement in their previous game against Trinidad&Tobago. They have some quality international players in their squad and it’s only a matter of time before they start performing as a team.

Brandon King, Andre McCarthy, Rovman Powell are in fine form with the bat. They just need a little support from the top order. If they get a good start, they’ll be hard to stop. In the bowling department, they have the likes of Oshane Thomas, Sheldon Cottrell, D Bulli, Andre McCarthy and Fabien Allen who are capable of running through a batting order.
