Who will win West Indies vs India, 3rd ODI?
Victory for India in the third and final ODI will see the tourists back up their T20i series success with a 2-0 ODI series win too. The match takes place at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, on August 14. The live action begins at 09:30 local time.
India, led by Virat Kohli, won the previous game at Port of Spain in relatively dominant fashion. They scored 279/7 before bowling West Indies out for 210. After losing in the World Cup semi-finals, it was a good return to their best ODI form.
West Indies, however, were below par at the World Cup and continued in that vein in the second match. Evin Lewis and Nicholas Pooran looked to be putting them in a good position, but they fell from 179/4 to 182/8 as all hopes of a win were extinguished. It is hard to see how they can get out of this slump as they continue to let good starts go to waste.

WI vs IND Toss Prediction
India have, incredibly, won all five tosses on this tour of the Caribbean. If their phenomenal luck holds, they will likely choose to bat first again. If West Indies finally get a bit of fortune at the toss, as they are due, they may elect to do likewise.
WI vs IND Weather Report
Thunderstorms in the afternoon could cause delays to the second innings but they may get lucky. The temperature is forecast to be around 30 degrees Celsius and it could be quite humid in Trinidad.
WI vs IND Pitch Condition
The pitch played up to expectations in the second ODI, favouring the batsmen more in the first innings than in the second. It traditionally breaks up and this could be a similar story.

WI Team News
In the only change from the rain-ruined first match, Oshane Thomas was selected ahead of Fabian Allen, leaving Roston Chase as the only spin bowler. The West Indies may elect for an extra spin-bowling option on this occasion after Thomas bowled just four overs.
WI Key Players
Evin Lewis: Has outperformed Chris Gayle so far in this series, having been 40* when rain curtailed the first match before hitting 65 from 80 balls to top score for the hosts in the second game.
Sheldon Cottrell: Took his 30th ODI wicket last time out, finishing with figures of 1-49 from his ten overs – that included 30 dot balls and just four boundaries in a good display of economic bowling.
Nicholas Pooran: Another good ODI innings to his name in the second match, hitting 42 and sharing a useful partnership with Evin Lewis. It was Pooran’s dismissal with 15.4 overs remaining that sparked the West Indian batting collapse.
WI Team Form
West Indies have lost seven of their last eight completed ODIs following defeat in the second match of this series. There have been two no results in there too, leaving them with one win in their last ten games. That win was against out-of-form Afghanistan.
Their issue has been failing to build on good positions with the bat, and that was true of an individual and team perspective in the second match of this series – Nichlolas Pooran falling for 42 with 15 overs remaining and the West Indian batting promptly collapsing to 210 all out.
West Indies Predicted Playing 11
Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Roston Chase, Jason Holder (c), Fabian Allen, Carlos Brathwaite, Kemar Roach, Sheldon Cottrell

IND Team News
India stuck with the same team they chose for the rained-off first match of WI vs IND 2019 series. Yuzvendra Chahal sat out with Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav the spinners selected, while Manish Pandey, KL Rahul and Navdeep Saini were also unused. India now must choose between consistency and testing their fringe players.
IND Key Players
Virat Kohli: Still the finest ODI batsman in the world game, possibly ever. The Indian captain’s 42nd ODI hundred boosted his average to 59.71 and included 14 fours and one six.
Rohit Sharma: While he fell cheaply last time out, he was the form man at the World Cup – hitting a stunning five centuries on his way to the top of the run-scoring charts. Only Virat Kohli is above him in the ICC ODI rankings.
Bhuvenshwar Kumar: Led the bowling attack in the last game, taking 4-31 to move to 132 ODI wickets in 112 innings. It was his fourth four-wicket haul and he has now taken seven wickets in his last two completed ODI matches.
IND Team Form
India came into this series looking to bounce back from their World Cup semi-final defeat to New Zealand. They had only lost one group game on their way to top spot before losing over two days to the Black Caps.
They went some way to doing that in the last game, however – Virat Kohli’s century reaffirming his place as the world’s number one ODI batsman, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s four-wicket haul sealed a comfortable win.
India Predicted Playing 11
Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Kedar Jadhav, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Khaleel Ahmed
West Indies vs India Head to Head
Victory for India in this match will take them level with West Indies in their all-time head-to-head record in ODI matches. India currently have 61 wins to the West Indies’ 62, though they have now won their last four completed games in a row.
That includes the Mohammed Shami-inspired win at the World Cup – when West Indies folded for 143 – while it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the four-wicket haul in the most recent game. West Indies scored a little more, but will still be disappointed with the gulf between the sides as they folded for 210.
