After the hosts won the two-match Test series 2-0, attention turns towards the start of the West Indies v Bangladesh IT20 series. West Indies have not played this format since losing 3-0 against India in February earlier this year. Bangladesh drew their most recent IT20 series, 1-1 against Afghanistan. West Indies have fallen from grace in this format after being World Cup holders from 2016 - 2021. They have undergone a big change of personnel and have an exciting new team.
Bangladesh won many games as underdogs in their first decades as an established cricketing nation. However, they underperformed in the 2021 T20 World Cup and must sort out their form in this format if they are to challenge.

There will be plenty of changes to the last West Indies IT20 side we saw against India in Kolkata back in February. From the XI who were beaten by 17 runs in that game, only five are in the squad for this series. Nicholas Pooran will lead the side with Rovman Powell vice-captain.
Although West Indies were beaten 3-0 against India earlier this year, they won their last home IT20 series 3-2 against England.

We expect to see no more than a couple of changes to Bangladesh from their last T20I fixture against Afghanistan at the start of March. Experienced batter, Mushfiqur Rahim, has not travelled to the Caribbean for the tour and neither has Mohammad Naim who has struggled for form.
Bangladesh have won only one of their last ten IT20s and that victory was swiftly followed by a defeat against the same opposition, Afghanistan earlier this year.
