After an abandonment and a defeat from their last two group stage games, Wellington Blaze are looking for their first win in three matches.

Canterbury Magicians

The Magicians qualified for Saturday’s final with a seven wicket win, with three balls remaining, against Otago Sparks in Dunedin on Thursday. The win ended a poor run of form which had seen the Magicians slip down the table across the final games.

It was no surprise to see Amy Satterthwaite top score for Canterbury Magicians in the Elimination Final but it was keeper-batter opener Laura Hughes who also caught the eye with 28 runs from 17 balls. Kate Anderson got a golden duck but is the leading run scorer in the tournament.

CM-W Team Bowling

Sarah Asmussen took 5-17 in the Elimination Final but did not take a wicket against Wellington Blaze in the last meeting. Gabby Sullivan has taken wickets in the last five matches with a combined 4-37 from her last two games against Otago Sparks.

Canterbury Magicians have lost four of their last eight matches but had lost two in a row before the Elimination Final.
